Philip Loersch (b. Aachen, 1980; lives and works near Munich) combines painstaking imitations of printed writing with hyperrealist colored-pencil drawings; for instance, he transfers pages from encyclopedias not only onto paper, but also onto three-dimensional objects such as soapstone. His works reveal the fragility of truth and authenticity while commenting with subversive irony on the postmodern disintegration of the idea of originality. His art has been exhibited at renowned institutions like Kunsthaus Z rich, Museum Kunstpalast D sseldorf, and Hamburger Kunsthalle. He has won numerous fellowships and awards, including the Kunstpreis Berlin f r Bildende Kunst. This monograph gathers his works created between 2016 and today.

Every Contact Leaves A Trace Jeewi Lee is interested in all the traces–the intimate imprints and distinctive markings–that we leave behind and that inhabit the spaces surrounding us. Abstract compositions of rescued stories, worn-out pavements and stripped down wallpapers, cut out floors, grains of sand that have traveled millions of years around the world, coffee stains or burnt wood. These traces, both human and historical, become vessels of stories and memories, inscribed on various materials, bearing witness to the past, present, and future. This publication offers a comprehensive exploration of the manifold tracings of the Berlin-based Korean artist over the past decade. It provides insight into her highly conceptual way of working and unveils previously unseen documentation of her deeply personal process of creation.

In thirteenth-century France, a female poet endures the chaos of the Albigensian Crusade in this novel by the author of Eleanor of Aquitaine. A holy war is sweeping France, razing cities and destroying the peaceful lives of those considered heretics. Sybille d’Astarac, born to pampered luxury, is a gifted female troubadour. But her poems grow dark as the Catholic crusade seeks to eradicate her sect. In the face of massacre, can Sybille survive the Inquisition? Will her love songs? A work of stunning historical fiction, Sybille displays Marion Meade's pitch‑perfect understanding of strong women facing the harsh realities of life in medieval times. As Robin Morgan, author of The Anatomy of Freedom, writes, this book is “an inspiration for women and an illumination for all readers.”
