Love is a song played on repeat...A cryptic blog post leads cold case podcasters Melody and Dorian on a twisty journey back in time to uncover the mysterious story of a forgotten missing woman. In 1969 near the Florida/Georgia Line, idealistic young Betty Langdon and fast-rising R&B singer Dominicus Owens begin an irresistible but dangerous interracial romance that ends under mysterious, heartbreaking circumstances. Betty is forced to return to her rural home to care for her manipulative mother, while Dominicus goes on to mega-stardom with his band The Downtown Sound. She follows his skyrocketing career from behind the front desk of a dying highway motel--until one day decades later, she disappears. Now, a popular true crime podcast produced by college friends Melody Hinterson and Dorian Santos takes on the cold case of a missing local woman. The duo's carefully-balanced workplace dynamic is weirdly off-kilter lately, but they can't take their eyes off the investigation as the intriguing new story suddenly boosts the show into the national spotlight. When the investigation uncovers the missing woman's diaries full of family secrets and the century-old legend of a fortune hidden in an old chimney somewhere in town, the truth behind the podcast's mystery suddenly becomes personal, and Melody must make life-changing choices before the final episode airs. But who owns the rights to a secret?

As I was writing this book, I realized that my grandmother was a soft girl. She taught me to be the same but not thru instruction. Instead, she taught me about self-care and how to treat oneself well just by living her life before me. Some of the ways she treated herself was with travel, dressing in beautiful clothes and shoes, and having her hair perfectly coiffed and nails perfectly manicured when she went out. She made herself a priority despite being the very best mother and grandmother. Demonstrating for me what it looked like to really love and value yourself was a huge lesson. She lived life to the fullest on her own terms and taught me that as well. In the Sermon on the Mount found in Matthew 7:2-11, Jesus lists the beatitudes. Well my grandmother had her very own "BE" attitudes for which she lived by.. In Things My Grandmother Taught Me: A Memoir for Soft Girls, I share all seven "BE" attitudes that I gleaned from watching my grandmother live life. Perhaps you have your very own set of "BE" attitudes. I also share the many other things that my grandmother taught others like her nieces, friends, and other granddaughters. I invite you to learn from my grandmother, a soft girl living her very best life, who taught me how to live mine as well.

In How I Got Over: Stories of Faith and Courage in the Face of Adversity you will meet five people who have endured significant trials and made it to the other side. You will meet a special needs mom who was forced to deliver prematurely at 26 weeks. Her daughter was born with significant developmental delays. We meet a woman grieving the loss of her grandmother to the point that she was propelled into a life of drug abuse. As a user of crack cocaine, she neglected everything that was important to her including her children in pursuit of her next high. We meet a man who lived his life on the streets for many years until the Lord found him. He did drugs, sold drugs, robbed people, and lived a life of crime. How did he get over? How did the Lord redeem him? We meet a lady struggling with recovery from the amputation of her leg three years ago. She is in constant pain and lives her life in a wheelchair. Lastly, we meet a mother who experienced three deaths in one year - her infant daughter, her brother, and her marriage. These are real stories from real people just like you. They faced adversity and yet somehow, they overcame. They lived to tell the story in How I Got Over. "No, in all these things we are more than conquerors through him who loved us." Romans 8:37

Teaches students how to think like an APRN This book describes an innovative model for helping APRN students develop the clinical reasoning skills required to navigate complex patient care needs andcoordination in advanced nursing practice. This model, the Outcome-Present-State-Test (OPT), encompasses a clear, step-by-step process that students can use to learn the skills of differential diagnosis and hone clinical reasoning strategies. This method facilitates understanding of the relationships among patient problems, outcomes, and interventions that focus on promoting patient safety and care coordination. It moves beyond traditional ways of problemsolving by focusing on patient scenarios and stories and juxtaposing issues and outcomes that have been derived from an analysis of patient problems,evidence-based interventions, and desired outcomes. The model offers a blueprint for using standardized health care languages and provides strategies for developing reflective and complex thinking thatbecomes habitual. It embodies several levels of perspective related to patient-centered care planning, team-centered negotiation, and health care systemconsiderations. Through patient stories and case scenarios, the text highlights care coordination strategies critical in complex patient situations. Itprovides students with the tools to collect patient information, determine priorities for care, and test interventions to reach health care outcomes bymaking clinical judgments during the problem-solving process. Concept maps illustrate complex patient care issues and how they relate to each other. For faculty use, the text provides links to relevant APN competencies and provides guidelines for using the OPT when supervising students in field settings. Key Features: Delivers a concrete learning model for developing creative thinking and problem solving in the clinical setting Offers a blueprint and structure for using standardized health care languages Includes patient stories and case scenarios to illustrate effective use of the OPT model Highlights care coordination strategies associated with complex client situations with the use of the Care Coordination Clinical Reasoning model Reinforces methods of reaching a diagnosis, outcomes, and interventions and how to duplicate the process

This fascinating memoir spans the time from Moitessier's magical childhood in Vietnam to months before his death, is a beautifully written saga of physical adventure and spiritual growth. Born in the French Indochina in 1925, Bernard Moitessier grew up astride two cultures--French and Vietnamese--in a turbulent era that moved dramatically from peace to war. Imprisoned during the Japanese occupation, he was later drafted to fight the Viet Minh in a French war that foreshadowed America's own Vietnam involvement two decades later. Tamata tells how the 25-year-old Moitessier left Vietnam to answer the call of the sea. He led the life of a sea-gypsy, wandering the Indian Ocean, the South Atlantic, and the Caribbean, learning the ways of boats and the sea and surviving two catastrophic shipwrecks. His greatest sailing adventures followed, the Tahiti-Alicante passage and his ten month round-the-world solo voyage in 1969 when he withdrew from the Golden Globe Race and sailed on to Tahiti. Moitessier then spent three years on a remote atoll in the Tuamotu Archipelago. Called "Tamata" ("try it!") by his Tuamotu friends, he built a Polynesian-style house, planted coconut trees, and gradually transformed the sun-blasted coral into a speck of green in the middle of the South Pacific. After living in the United States, he spent the last years of his life in France. He is buried in a small fishing village in Brittany.
