The Battlefield of the Workplace is about maintaining a Christian lifestyle by balancing work and faith. It is not about a particular company or job. It is about letting down your guards and trusting God's Word to lead you on the path to your purpose. It can sometimes become a war between what we think or feel like we should be doing versus God's Plan. This 30-day devotional outlines scriptures in the bible followed by journaling that will serve as a guide into the purpose God has for you. Tawana Michelle Williams, M.B.A./HRM grew up in Jackson, Mississippi. She is the single mother of two daughters and owner of Williams HR Consulting Group, LLC. Tawana has over 16 years of HR/Staffing and Recruiting experience working in various industries. Over the years, she has learned that life is not always about the titles you hold or the amount of money you earn. It is about being on the path that God has prepared for you. Through prayer, fasting, and journaling Tawana has learned that life is about obeying, believing, and trusting in God's word, knowing that He has already laid the foundation and paved the way, and if you know you are living in your purpose, God will take care of all your needs.
When Tawanda's big brother Marcus is killed at age 14, Tawanda begins writing her memories of him to help her cope with the loss. The laughter and tears roll together for her, but in the end, she learns more about herself than she could ever imagine.
Best friends, Tawanda and Tate, are off on a wild and exciting adventure with Tawanda's horse, Honey. This story is sure to leave you laughing and thinking about your best friend. Best friends keep the best secrets and some secrets are only meant for those friends that won't say or "neigh" a word. Join Tawanda and Tate for a ride that you won't soon forget About the author: Jennifer Schmitt was born and raised in rural Iowa. (((Echoes))) is full of raw emotions, precious and sometimes painful memories, personal tributes and introspective reflections that span the past five decades of my life. My poetic journey echoes and reverberates the discoveries, mistakes and lessons of my youth paralleled with the wisdom of my well-"seasoned" self. It covers expressions of my soul and mind all while inviting the reader to connect and explore their own journey. It brings to light those sometimes uncomfortable self -conversations that are necessary for personal evolution. The verses and vibes in this book echo my past and present and grant all access to the recesses of my mind and the sound of my soul... (((ECHO)))
The debut collection of an exciting new voice in poetryPlease make me pretty, I don’t want to die explores tactility, sound, sensuality, and intimacy. Set across the four seasons of a year, these fresh and original poems by Tawanda Mulalu combine an inviting confessional voice and offbeat imagery, and offer an appealing mixture of seriousness and humor. The speaker of these poems probes romantic and interracial intimacy, the strangeness and difficulty of his experiences as a diasporic Black African in White America, his time working as a teacher’s assistant in a third-grade classroom, and his ambivalent admiration for canonical poets who have influenced him, especially Sylvia Plath. Juxtaposing traditional forms such as sonnets and elegies with less orthodox interjections, such as prose-poem “prayers” and other meditations, the collection presents a poetic world both familiar and jarring—one in which history, the body, and poetry can collide in a single surprising turn of image: “The stars also suffer. Immense and dead, their gasses burn / distant like castanets of antebellum teeth. My open window / a synecdoche of country.”

No mother wants to hear her child has cancer, yet here I am sharing the journey of my brave son, Ja'Marcus Davon Davis, and his battle with Heptacellular Carcinoma. During his untimely illness, we encountered countless trials and tribulations, and leaning on Jesus wasn't always an easy task. We remained humbled and steadfast in God's word, since we knew He was our help. My son endured the cutting, piercing, and probing of his defenseless body during a 10 1/2 hour surgery, to remove the cancerous tumors from his abdomen. Learning my son was ill was tremendously heartbreaking, but having the cancer to return tore me apart. The storm beat on us, but we came out victorious; for even in the storm Jesus Christ is amazing. I wrote this book to encourage every mother, and to ease her grieving heart. Burying a child is not a walk in the park, but God has the ability to turn what we feel is a mess into a message; if we only walk with Him. This message is our testimony.
