NU SOCIETY IN A NU AGE Creating the Kingdom of Heaven on Earth This presentation spells out a step-by-step process of correcting the corrections system in order to correct the society, as follows: Our corrections system is by far the largest in the world, with 25% of all prisoners in the world in our prisons, even though we only have 5% of the world's population. PEACE PLEASE proposes that through our experimental prison program called "Project Nu Life": 1. we can create a model program that trains prisoners in the behaviors of a responsible citizen so that they do not return to crime and prison; 2. which will thereby become a model for systematically reducing crime in the larger society; 3. which will thereby become a model for reducing law enforcement, security measures, courts, jails, and prisons; 4. which will thereby become a model for restructuring the larger society based on the model of this successful prison program. How would this work? "Project Nu Life" provides: Twelve Essential Services to Prevent Released Prisoners from Returning to Crime and Prison 1. training in the behaviors of a responsible citizen 2. job training and jobs 3. low-income and rent-to-own housing 4. financial assistance 5. health insurance 6. literacy training 7. a support network 8. seeing prisoners as good people with bad behaviors, not as bad people 9. forgiveness and non-condemnation 10. mutually supportive male-female relationships 11. encouraging our prisoners to strive for a higher purpose in life than the accumulation of material possessions 12. a retirement income
"NU GLOBALISM IN A NU AGE--Truly Uniting Our Nations" 1. Every ten seconds, a child dies from starvation somewhere in the world, totaling about three million a year. 2. Every 20 seconds, a child dies from contaminated water somewhere in the world, totaling about two million a year. 3. Every 30 seconds, a child dies from malaria somewhere in the world, totaling about one million a year. 4. We have a 17 packet that could give a child the nutrition they need every day. 5. We have a 10 packet that could purify a child's water every day. 6. We have a $10 malaria net that lasts three years, and we need about $1 per day in medicines to keep a child from dying of malaria. 7. We should have our richest citizens and our richest countries pay for the delivery of these minimum services to the least of our children on the planet, so that we can love our neighbors as ourselves and so that we can be our brother's keeper, or we will not be able to live together in peace on this planet as a single global family. 8. Instead, we will continue to be in a constant state of war with each other like a bunch of animals living according to the law of the jungle. 9. Which is it going to be, America? It is time to stand up and be counted.
NU SPIRITUALITY IN A NU AGE--FROM THE LAWS OF THE JUNGLE TO THE LAWS OF LOVE takes the position that we cannot hope to attain peace on our planet without sharing a spiritual foundation for that peace, and we are very fortunate in this regard: - When we compare ten of the greatest religions all around the world, we find that they concur on at least 50 behaviors and beliefs at about a 95% level of agreement. - Further, we find that these ten religions fall rather clearly into two separate groups--first what we call "evolutionary" religions in the East, meaning they develop "naturally"--Buddhism, Confucianism, Hinduism, Jainism, Sikhism, Taoism, and Zoroastrianism; and second what we call "revealed" religions in the West, meaning they develop by "revelation" from higher spiritual entities than those on earth--The Old Testament, The New Testament, the Koran, the Book of Mormon, The Urantia Book, A Course in Miracles, The Revealed Translation of John's Revelation Given by the Lord Jesus Christ, and The Historical Fulfillment of John's Revelation as Revealed by the Lord Jesus Christ. - Further, when we compare these eight different "Bibles" that contain the texts of the single revealed religion in the West, we find that they all tell very much the same story, with at least 25 characters--including one pair of artifacts --which appear rather consistently throughout these eight Bibles. Their appearances range from Jesus, who appears is all eight of these Bibles, to the pair of artifacts called "Urim and Thummim," which were used to "translate" religious texts, and which appear in two of these eight Bibles: 1. Jesus, 2.Gabriel, 3. Melchizedek, 4. Adam and Eve, 5. Noah, 6. Abraham, 7. Lot, 8. Ishmael, 9. Isaac, 10. Jacob, 11. Joseph, 12. Moses, 13. Aaron, 14. Joshua, 15. David, 16. Solomon, 17. Elizabeth, the Mother of John the Baptist, 18. Zacharias, the Father of John the Baptist, 19. John the Baptist, 20. Mary, the Mother of Jesus, 21. Joseph, the Father of Jesus, 22. Simon Peter, Jesus' Apostle, 23. James Zebedee, Jesus' Apostle, 24. John Zebedee, Jesus' Apostle and Author of the Book of Revelation, 25. Urim and Thummim. - It is the purpose of this book on a "nu approach to spirituality" to present all of these religions and Bibles in such a fashion that their similarities and differences become clear in order to help bring peace to our planet. It is not going to be easy to bring peace to a planet with as many problems as we have, but it is going to be an exhilarating experience using all of these highest spiritual teachings available to us to do it, and to exhaust the rest of our lives to help accomplish it. Our guarantee of success is that we have our most revered spiritual teacher to guide us through it all --Jesus. So let's join our efforts in this greatest of all endeavors to bring peace to our planet, then not stop until it is done; and use the common spiritual principles of all these religions to help us defeat Global Warming as a unified planet.
OBSTACLES TO A LITERAL INTERPRETATION OF THE BIBLE, ACCORDING TO THE URANTIA BOOK. We all face the problem of trying to interpret the Bible literally, as if each word has been directly dictated by God and is therefore "written in stone" on a page in the Bible. The biggest problem is that the Bible has been changed so many times that its meaning lies hidden somewhere between the truth and the multitudinous changes that human beings have made to the original writings. Even those original writing were not made by God, but by human beings struggling to find God and describe their search as best they could. So the passages in the Bible cannot be interpreted word for word as the undisputed Word of God. Even reading the "acts" of Jesus' apostles as if they perfectly represent what Jesus taught leads to many distortions. Paul of Tarsus was the biggest offender of all in this regard, even though he was also the outstanding evangelist who spread the teachings of Christianity all over the known world, even out-distancing Peter. So there is no simple solution to the problem of how to interpret passages from "the Bible"; however, this book is an attempt to use information given to us by "higher beings" to help us decide which interpretation is the best one to use. In our attempt to approach this complicated problem, we will draw on four spiritual texts that were all "revealed" to us during the 20th century by Jesus and other "high beings" as follows: THE URANTIA BOOK (published in 1955) A COURSE IN MIRACLES (published in 1976) THE REVEALED TRANSLATION OF THE BOOK OF REVELATION GIVEN BY THE LORD JESUS CHRIST (published in 1908) THE HISTORICAL FULFILLMENT OF THE BOOK OF REVELATION AS REVEALED BY THE LORD JESUS CHRIST (transmitted in 1908) All four of these texts are either BY Jesus or ABOUT Jesus, the authenticity of which each reader is responsible for deciding about on their own.

The format of this book starts with 100 direct quotes from THE NEW KING JAMES VERSION OF THE BIBLE, then follows them directly with passages from THE BOOK OF URANTIA that lend depth and understanding to those original quotes. A more detailed level of explanation can be provided either by a fuller reading of URANTIA, itself, or by reading the attached series of eight teaching manuals that is designed to simplify the complicated text of URANTIA so as to reduce the time and effort it takes to uncover the world of meaning to be found within this modern religious text--a 20th-century revelation, no less. The passages selected from the Bible to be updated by revelation from URANTIA were chosen to be included in this manual in order to answer such basic questions as: - "Did Moses really part the Red Sea?" No. These were convenient alterations of secular history by Jewish scribes in order to conform the events of real secular history with Jewish religious history; but no one can deny that they were eminently successful in their efforts. Witness the fact that the Old Testament has become the "more or less" accepted explanation of religious history for about a third of humanity. Other passages have been included because they answer questions like: - Was there an actual "Garden of Eden? and if so, where was it? - Was there a "Tree of Life" in the Garden of Eden? and if so, how did eating the fruit from "the tree of the knowledge of good and evil" by Adam and Eve lead to the default of their mission? Other passages have been included because they answer some of the long-held mysteries about John's BOOK OF REVELATION like: - What is "the mark of the Beast"? - What is the "New Jerusalem" that is prophesied to "come down out of Heaven from God" in "the latter days"? Bible readers range from those who believe every word the Bible says, to those who don't believe a word it says, to those in between who allow for certain "exaggerations" that are thought to distort, but not destroy, underlying religious truths.
