Carmel, California is an idyllic setting that is very familiar to visitors and residents of that beautiful state; however, there is an underbelly of this place that is the dark side of the community. This book, from a fictional perspective, addresses matters of unspeakable crimes that have taken root, without the knowledge of the local residents and visitors. The former Chief of Police of Phoenix, Lennie Mason, and his friend, Walter Stolz, the Chief of Police of Carmel have led an initiative to eradicate a drug, sex, and human trafficking ring in their city. Lennie, at the behest of Chief Walt Stolz, agreed to assume the temporary role of Special Investigator and Deputy to the Chief of Police of Carmel. In that role, Lennie Mason experienced many unsuspected incidents of suspense and intrigue. Many of the rich and famous, such as Doris Day and Clint Eastwood, to mention only a couple of stars, lived and/or worked in this beautiful hamlet.

WENDELL. is a play by multidisciplinary artist John Moletress. A riff on Woyzeck. Buchner's 1837 fragmented tragedy of a young, broken soldier is transported to present day Charles County, Maryland. When Wendell plays Doom, he plays in his gas mask. In the kitchen, mother Mary washes her mouth with Jim Beam as she imagines her former days as the crowned Queen Nicotina. Father Bundy hears war sounds while cleaning his gun. Mike and Doc have a garage band, but they're not very good. Alice, wife of Mike, obsesses over her cashier scan time. And their son Andrew likes to play football but has a bum knee.

"The 12 assessments of Wendell Willkie in this book are exceptionally well done. They are interesting reading about a most interesting man." —The Coffeyville (KS) Journal " . . . a remarkable and useful compilation of essays . . . " —Indiana Magazine of History Indiana's Wendell Willkie burst upon the national political scene in 1940 when, apparently out of nowhere, he won the Republican nomination for the presidency and ran against Franklin Roosevelt. After his defeat, he traveled widely and returned to write One World, which had a tremendous impact on the then-isolationist United States. "There was about him," the New York Times editorialized, "a warm and winning sincerity . . . a natural straightforwardness which left untouched no one who knew him." These essays by a distinguished group of historians recognize one of the state's most famous native sons and reassess his impact on history one hundred years after his birth.
Wendell's life has always been difficult and hopeless as wanders about the dusty streets of the city. Stealing rolls from the baker and getting hired to chase crows away, the only comfort he finds is in listening to the old stories and songs of the passing storytellers. Yet one day after he visits the royal painter, he will have to decide whether the stories are true enough to believe in and to risk everything for. But there may be secrets to the stories which no one remembers anymore, that he will have to face alone.
Jump in and join Wendell on his magical ride to space to help save the planet from the bad aliens who are trying to take over space by completing drawings, puzzles, coloring pages, and much much more
