Was ist natrlich? Etwa alles, was die Natur zulsst?

As biblical unitarian Christianity continues to grow in our time, more and more people's stories are coming to light-stories of rejection, sacrifice, and courage. In The Cost of Truth, Seneca Harbin has pulled together a team of contributors to tell the stories of eight individuals who have bravely pursued truth, regardless of the cost. They come from a variety of backgrounds, including evangelical denominations, the Jehovah's Witnesses, The Way International, paganism, and the Church of God General Conference. Once people come to the truth of what the Bible teaches about God and Christ, they go through various stages of growth. Seneca Harbin outlines this typical progression from (1) finding fault in your current belief system to (2) searching for truth, (3) gaining knowledge and becoming prideful to (4) sharing your new understanding with others, then (5) losing friends and getting kicked out because of your new beliefs. Thankfully, the story doesn't have to end there. As several of the contributors to The Cost of Truth testify, with the aid of the internet and organizations like the Unitarian Christian Alliance (UCA), biblical unitarian Christians are finding each other. Some end up relocating to attend churches of like precious faith while others remain where they are, meeting in online communities. Still others are starting up a range of exciting new ministries, from home fellowships to traditional churches. With stories of resilience and faith in the pursuit of truth, The Cost of Truth will encourage and inspire you in your faith journey. "Any unitarian Christian will learn from their experiences. Highly recommended " -Dale Tuggy, PhD, Philosophy, Brown University, chair of the Unitarian Christian Alliance, co-author of One God, Three Persons, Four Views, edited by Chad McIntosh, host of the Trinities podcast "Seneca Harbin has assembled a compelling collection of testimonies to fire us up. This book will show you that God is not done yet" -Sean Finnegan, president of Living Hope International Ministries, author of Kingdom Journey: A Call to Recover the Central Theme of Scripture, host of the Restitutio podcast "The stories in this book show that Christian persecution of non-Trinitarians is real, but they also show that God is faithful." -John Schoenheit, co-founder of Spirit & Truth, co-author of One God & One Lord: Reconsidering the Cornerstone of the Christian Faith

While Vili has neither the multi-generational sweep nor the moral gravitas of Singer’s family sagas, its themes are nonetheless timeless, its struggles archetypal. A father and son grapple with each other, and, in the process, a richly compact narrative emerges: a rebellious son leaves his ancestral home—an unnamed village in Poland—to find adventure among strangers and lose tradition and family along the way. Their respective stories define what is lost and what is gained in the immigrant passage to the new world. The eponymous hero, Volf Rubin—or Willy (Vili) Robin in America—is the rare agon who must share center stage with his antagonist, that is, his more voluble paterfamilias. The sententious Hirsh—modeled on Singer's own painful childhood interactions with the savage brutality of the chief rabbi of Nyesheve—tenaciously holds onto some of the more merciless and "bone- breaking" pronouncements derived from a literalist reading and application of Jewish law. Such is the heavy baggage which, according to Volf, should have been left behind in steerage. Volf's lapsed Judaism is his father’s dystopian nightmare. He much prefers nature and farm animals to any form of classroom. Eventually, he leaves home for the New World, and there a whole new story unfolds—or is it so “new”?

Willy Brandt, the first Social Democratic Chancellor of West Germany (1969-1974) was perhaps the most charismatic German leader since Hitler. He was mayor of Berlin when the Wall was built (1961) and as Chancellor he initiated Ostpolitik which indirectly contributed to the fall of the Iron Curtain. As Chairman of the North-South Commission he drew the world's attention to the plight of the Third World. He won the Nobel Peace Prize in 1991.
