Dear You: Porch Confessions is a soul-bearing poetry collection by Zachery Williams, written from the porch of memory, faith, and truth. Through vivid imagery and raw emotion, Williams traces the journey from childhood innocence to adult resilience - exploring Black identity, queerness, trauma, love, and spiritual rebirth. Each poem becomes a quiet confession, a moment of reckoning, and a testament to survival. From the weight of generational pain to the freedom of forgiveness, Dear You reminds readers that healing doesn't always roar - sometimes it whispers through soft strength. A deeply personal yet universal work, this collection invites readers to pull up a chair, sit with their own truths, and remember that even the broken can still glow when the porch light stays on.

From the 1920s through the 1970s, Howard University was home to America’s most renowned assemblage of black scholars. This book traces some of the personal and professional activities of this community of public intellectuals, demonstrating their scholar-activist nature and the myriad ways they influenced modern African American, African, and Africana policy studies. In Search of the Talented Tenth tells how individuals like Rayford Logan, E. Franklin Frazier, John Hope Franklin, Merze Tate, Charles Wesley, and Dorothy Porter left an indelible imprint on academia and black communities alike through their impact on civil rights, anticolonialism, and women’s rights. Zachery Williams explores W. E. B. Du Bois’s Talented Tenth by describing the role of public intellectuals from the Harlem Renaissance to the Black Power movement, in times as trying as the Jim Crow and Cold War eras.Williams first describes how the years 1890 to 1926 laid the foundation for Howard’s emergence as the “capstone of Negro education” during the administration of university president Mordecai Johnson. He offers a wide-ranging discussion of how the African American community of Washington, D.C., contributed to the dynamism and intellectual life of the university, and he delineates the ties that linked many faculty members to one another in ways that energized their intellectual growth and productivity as scholars. He also discusses the interaction of Howard’s intellectual community with those of the West Indies, Africa, and other places, showing the international impact of Howard’s intellectuals and the ways in which black and brown elites outside the United States stimulated the thought and scholarship of the Howard intellectuals. In Search of the Talented Tenth marks the first in-depth study of the intellectual activity of this community of scholars and further attests to the historic role of women faculty in shaping the university. It testifies to the impact of this group as a model against which the twenty-first century’s black public intellectuals can be measured.

It was powerful, it was dexterous, it was beautiful, and it was mine. It's more than an appendage it seems...It's one hell of a tale. The Tail of a Dragon follows Zurion, whose decision to join a war he knows nothing of results in the loss of something very close to him, in fact, it was attached to him. His unsightly new appearance results in exile, and this is his story. Full of twists and turns, dreams of revenge, and care for the masses of unique friends he makes along the way, the last thing he worries about is his tail.

The 2015-16 season marked a significant moment in Clemson football history. Not only did the team play in its first national championship in thirty-four years, but the nation also finally took note of the burgeoning renaissance. When Dabo Swinney told a national television audience about his team's willingness to "bring your own guts" after an emotional win over Notre Dame, it was a spontaneous line to a television reporter in the delirious, rain-soaked aftermath of a landmark victory. But Swinney's comment also underscored the identity and drive that would fuel a truly special season. Larry Williams relays the intimate details of Swinney's life, his impact on Tiger Town and his mission to create an elite program on and off the field.

In the mythical town of Winesburg, Indiana, there lives a cleaning lady who can conjure up the ghost of Billy Sunday, a lascivious holy man with an unusual fetish and a burgeoning flock, a park custodian who collects the scat left by aliens, and a night janitor learning to live with life's mysteries, including the zombies in the cafeteria. Winesburg, Indiana, is a town full of stories of plans made and destroyed, of births and unexpected deaths, of remembered pasts and unexplored presents told to the reader by as interesting a cast of characters as one is likely to find in small town America. Brought to life by a lively group of Indiana writers, Winesburg, Indiana, is a place to discover something of what it means to be alive in our hyperactive century from stories that are deeply human, sometimes melancholy, and often damned funny.
