Written to celebrate the Bicentenary of the Royal College of Surgeons of England, this beautifully illustrated book traces the history of surgery and the surgical profession from the days of the Worshipful Company of Barber-Surgeons, through the period of the Company of Surgeons, until the Royal College was established in March, 1800.
