According to The Washington Post, 432 minorities have been shot and killed by the police in 2019 alone. (Tate, 2019). This study aims to explore the real life experiences of African American males in the United States who are more susceptible to the realities of Police Brutality. This study consists of in-depth interviews followed by an art based research method known as poetic transcription. Poetic transcription was created to help the subject and researcher discuss and understand sensitive topics. Poetic transcription consists of the researcher recreating the words, feelings, and emotions of his subjects into poetry only using the real spoken words of the subjects interviewed. According to Patricia Leavy, "Poems, surrounded by space and weighted by silence, break through the noise to present an essence. Sensory scenes created with skillfully placed words and purposeful pauses, poems push feelings to the forefront, capturing heightened moments of social reality as if under a magnifying glass. "
