Intercropping has been an advanced agro-technique and has been considering to be an effective and potential means of optimizing crop production per unit area and time, particularly for farmers having marginal and small holdings. Substantial increase in total production over space and time not using costly inputs but by the simple expedient of growing crops together are the unique advantage associated with intercropping through micro-climatic manipulation. Nowadays major agronomic manipulations are necessary to maximize the yield in intercropping that include, effect of fertility and water regimes, selection of compatible genotypes and plant population/ spatial arrangement relationship. Wheat + mustard intercropping is an ecologically suitable, economically viable, operationally feasible, and socially acceptable cropping system during the winter season in India. Therefore, a wheat + mustard intercropping system under adequate and balanced fertilizer management, optimum planting density along compatible cultivars of component crops can produce an additional yield of the component crop (mustard) with the least affecting the yield of main crop (wheat).

Mungbean (Vigna radiata L. Wilczek) is one of the most ancient and extensively grown leguminous crops of India. It is an excellent source of high-quality protein (25%), carbohydrates (60%), and vitamin A. The Mungbean in Bundelkhand is grown using local varieties entirely in dryland conditions and on residual soil fertility on account of its higher net returns. Chemical fertilizers, no doubt, are an important source that can meet the nutrient requirement but their imbalance and continuous use lead to environmental pollution and deterioration of soil health. Furthermore, the availability of fertilizer at economic prices is another problem for the farmer. The integrated use of organic manures, chemical fertilizers, and bio-fertilizers and their efficient management has been found effective is not only in increasing productivity but also in improving soil health and brought sustainability in system productivity.

Analysis and Design of Power Converter Topologies for Application in Future More Electric Aircraft
This thesis proposes new power converter topologies suitable for aircraft systems. It also proposes both AC-DC and DC-DC types of converters for different electrical loads to improve the performance these systems. To increase fuel efficiency and reduce environmental impacts, less efficient non-electrical aircraft systems are being replaced by electrical systems. However, more electrical systems requires more electrical power to be generated in the aircraft. The increased consumption of electrical power in both civil and military aircrafts has necessitated the use of more efficient electrical power conversion technologies. This book presents acomprehensive mathematical analysis and the design and digital simulation of the power converters. Subsequently it discusses the construction of the hardware prototypes of each converter and the experimental tests carried out to verify the benefits of the proposed solutions in comparison to the existing solutions.
