Zero-tillage technology (ZTT) refers to the growing of crop with the least possible soil disturbance, which involves controlling unwanted vegetation by other than mechanical means or by minimum use of tillage equipment. This is also known as minimum or reduced tillage, as shedding required some tillage operation. Thus zero tillage is a tillage system in which mechanical soil manipulation is reduced to traffic and seed-bed preparation only. (Baeumer and Brkermants, 1973). Indeed ZTT is presumably the oldest crop production system by human. In some parts of the tropics, ZTT is still a part of slash-and-burn-agriculture. After cleaning an area of forest by controlled burning, the seed is directly placed into the soil without benefit of tillage. However, research based zero tillage technology was first used successfully in 1950 pasture renovation in USA with mulch farming practices and the till plant system for row crop in order to provide year round protection of the soil from erosion and to minimize planting cost. Keeping in view, the importance of study, the investigation was undertaken in the Karnal and Fatehabad districts of Haryana state with the following specific objectives:

Break down the misconceptions of the Internet of Things by examining the different security building blocks available in Intel Architecture (IA) based IoT platforms. This open access book reviews the threat pyramid, secure boot, chain of trust, and the SW stack leading up to defense-in-depth.The IoT presents unique challenges in implementing security and Intel has both CPU and Isolated Security Engine capabilities to simplify it. This book explores the challenges to secure these devices to make them immune to different threats originating from within and outside the network. The requirements and robustness rules to protect the assets vary greatly and there is no single blanket solution approach to implement security.Demystifying Internet of Things Security provides clarity to industry professionals and provides and overview of different security solutionsWhat You'll LearnSecure devices, immunizing them against different threats originating from inside and outside the networkGather an overview of the different security building blocks available in Intel Architecture (IA) based IoT platformsUnderstand the threat pyramid, secure boot, chain of trust, and the software stack leading up to defense-in-depthWho This Book Is ForStrategists, developers, architects, and managers in the embedded and Internet of Things (IoT) space trying to understand and implement the security in the IoT devices/platforms.

Commercial entomology is a specialized field that falls under the broader study of entomology. Despite the longstanding knowledge of insects and their products, there is a scarcity of literature on commercial entomology. The authors of the books chapters have extensive expertise in the biology and management of insects, particularly in their respective areas of focus. Their insights are therefore invaluable for the growth and development of commercial entomology in India. The books chapters emphasize the study of Apis spp., silk worms, lac insects, and other important insects. The books first chapter, authored by Dr. Suday Prasad, covers the management of honey bees. Dr. Hari Chand and Mr. Beer Bahadur Singhs second and third chapters provide information on bee product production technology and bee pests, respectively. These chapters provide a comprehensive overview of the various bee hive products, their processing and uses, and their composition, all of which are aimed at promoting beekeeping development. The book also includes chapters on sericulture, lac culture, biological control, insect pests of medical importance, and insect pests of cattle and poultry, among other topics.

Exploring the chemistry of synthesis, mechanisms of polymerization, reaction engineering of step-growth and chain-growth polymerization, polymer characterization, thermodynamics and structural, mechanical, thermal and transport behavior of polymers as melts, solutions and solids, Fundamentals of Polymer Engineering, Third Edition covers essential concepts and breakthroughs in reactor design and polymer production and processing. It contains modern theories and real-world examples for a clear understanding of polymer function and development. This fully updated edition addresses new materials, applications, processing techniques, and interpretations of data in the field of polymer science. It discusses the conversion of biomass and coal to plastics and fuels, the use of porous polymers and membranes for water purification, and the use of polymeric membranes in fuel cells. Recent developments are brought to light in detail, and there are new sections on the improvement of barrier properties of polymers, constitutive equations for polymer melts, additive manufacturing and polymer recycling. This textbook is aimed at senior undergraduate students and first year graduate students in polymer engineering and science courses, as well as professional engineers, scientists, and chemists. Examples and problems are included at the end of each chapter for concept reinforcement.
Couchbase on Kubernetes: Autonomously Run and Manage a Complex Distributed Database on Kubernetes
The Couchbase Autonomous Operator for Kubernetes is an application-specific controller that vastly reduces complexity, human error and manual management of database services, resulting in streamlined operations, more efficient consumption of resources and cloud portability. Couchbase Autonomous Operator extends the Kubernetes API to create, configure and manage instances of complex stateful applications on behalf of a Kubernetes user. It builds upon the basic Kubernetes resource and controller concepts, but also includes the domain or application-specific knowledge to automate common tasks better managed by computers. Whether an enterprise is using a single-provider, hybrid cloud or cross-cloud strategy, Couchbase Autonomous Operator is deployment agnostic, thereby enabling multi-cloud deployment and migration seamlessly. As Kubernetes continues to gain momentum and IT organizations increasingly adopt cloud computing and embrace newer technologies like microservices, mobile, IoT and more, Couchbase identified the following key roadblocks that hinder progress: - High operational costs: Manually deploying and managing hundreds of database instances across multiple geographies increases cost, effort, and complexity. - Vendor lock-in: A lack of standardization to ensure data can be moved freely and safely between cloud providers has made it difficult to switch providers quickly or work with multiple providers. - Delayed time to market: Customers with applications using microservice architectures have difficulties managing and scaling database clusters in siloed systems, extending development times and making it harder to support their applications. The Couchbase Autonomous Operator for Kubernetes was built to address and overcome these challenges for the enterprise by providing: - Automated operations: Beta users report reductions of up to 95 percent of the operational complexity, which lowers operational costs. - Cloud-agnostic deployment and management: Offers enterprise customers with multi-cloud strategies the ability to deploy, manage and move their applications to and from any cloud, at any time. - Unmatched agility and flexibility: Allows customers who have adopted microservice architectures to run their database next to their application, reducing the DevOps cycle and decreasing time to market.
