When Paulie walked into the kitchen; he saw Mr. Holmes hit Mama so hard in the stomach, she vomit blood, and then Paulie heard him say, "I told you woman; I'm running things around here, and I own you, and all your damn brats " Paulie said he saw Satan himself in Mr. Holmes' eyes that day. Paulie slowly left the kitchen and when he came back, Mama was down on the floor cleaning up the blood, and Mr. Holmes kicked her in the back. That's when Paulie pulled the gun, and fired. He said that at the same time he was pulling the trigger, he wanted Mr. Holmes to know what was about to happen to him. He said, "Mr. Holmes, this is the last time that you're going to hurt any of us." When Mr. Holmes looked up, Paulie said he saw pure hell in his eyes. He opened his mouth to say something, but his thought went out of his head along with his brains, as they splattered all over the kitchen floor, mixing with the blood that he had made Mama vomit.
