"Dear Ann, I am a big fan of your Essential Oil books. My doctor has recently indicated that my cholesterol levels are high, which has led to increased amounts of stress trying to deal with that. This, in turn, has also resulted in a spike in blood pressure, all of which are not healthy for me. Is there an essential oil that you would recommend for these conditions?" Cholesterol can be good or bad; high levels of bad cholesterol are unhealthy for a several reasons. High levels of bad cholesterol can also lead to high blood pressure, or hypertension, which is not a healthy condition for your body to endure, and stress has never done anything good for anybody. Fortunately, one of my all-time favorite essential oils to use for all three of these conditions is Lemongrass. This particular essential oil has the inherent ability to help alleviate many of the symptoms associated with high levels of cholesterol, stress, hypertension, as well as pain relief for aches, pains, and sore muscles. Lemongrass is also a very good essential oil to use as a focus enhancer. If you find yourself distracted from all of the stressful events of your day, a few small drops of Lemongrass placed just below the nasal passages will assist you with managing the stress and staying on topic until the task is done. I have no doubt consumers will appreciate Lemongrass as much as I do. To Your Happiness & Wellness, Ann Sullivan

"Hello Ann I've purchased several of your previous recipe books and I've always been fascinated with the varieties you are able to come up with. I have searched high and low for a cookbook that focuses on hamburger, as that serves as a staple here on the homestead. We raise beef cattle, and it would be nice to spice up some old dishes and try a few new " Hamburger is a staple here at the Sullivan household as well. My grandparents both raised beef cattle, that's how my folks originally met, so we had plenty of hamburger growing up, and we still have half a freezer full of packaged hamburger any day of the year. It took me a little while to compile the recipes in this book. Being a hamburger fan, I felt it necessary to try each of these recipes before giving them space on these pages. The recipes you find here will definitely spice up some older dishes, and entice you to sample a few new platters I have put together. I hope you enjoy Bon Appetit, Ann Sullivan

"Hello Ann, I have several of your essential oil books, and I am a huge fan of the DIY recipe sections. I recently discovered that my teenage son and daughter are both beginning to suffer from dandruff. I started looking through my books for an effective essential oil recipe and didn't find one. What would you recommend?" Quite a few people suffer from dandruff, it is a very common scalp condition, and isn't anything to be too concerned about if caught and treated early enough. If left untreated, dandruff can become a bigger problem, often causing temporary hair loss, as a result of intense itching and inflammation in the affected area. There are several OTC hair care products that advertise being effective against dandruff; however, more people are now beginning to search for natural DIY recipes that will allow them to make chemical free solutions to the troubles that ail them. When it comes to dandruff, I always recommend using a DIY shampoo rich in Melaleuca; also known as Tea Tree, Melaleuca is an effective ingredient in any DIY dandruff control shampoo To Your Continued Well-being, Ann Sullivan

The Case of Cassia Essential Oils: Benefits, Properties, Applications, Studies & Recipes
"Ann, I suffer periodically from bouts with rheumatism and arthritis. Sometimes the pain and inflammation are too much to bear. Is there an essential oil I can use to relieve some of these symptoms?" Rheumatism and arthritis are problematic issues for many of our senior citizens. Normal OTC (Over The Counter) medications for rheumatism and arthritis can be costly, especially for those who suffer frequent episodes of joint pain and inflammation. One of the essential oils I often recommend to those looking for alternative herbal assistance, is Cassia. Cassia is defined as a "hot," or "warm" oil. It is a member of the cinnamon family and has a long history of being used to improve blood circulation, fight depression, and relieve joint pain and inflammation. I often recommend using Cassia essential oil in a blend of other oils, or with a carrier, as it can be quite warm if applied neat. Readers will be enlightened on the many uses and properties associated with Cassia essential oil. I have included a few of my favorite blend recipes that utilize the benefits of Cassia essential oil for the ailments that adversely affect them the most. I think they will be just as excited about using the oil, and pleased with the results, as I am when I use them. To Your Happiness & Wellness, Ann Sullivan
