La presente indagine dal titolo "Standardizzazione delle dimensioni e della spaziatura di steckling per la produzione di semi di qualit di carota (Daucus carota L.) in condizioni temperate" stata avviata presso il Parco Tecnologico Urbano, Habbak, Divisione di Scienze Vegetali, SKUAST-Kashmir durante il 2013-2014. L'esperimento stato disposto in Randomized Complete Block Design con tre repliche. Sono state utilizzate quattro spaziature (S1= 60 cm x 30 cm, S2= 60 cm x 45 cm, S3= 60 cm x 60 cm e S4= 60 cm x 75 cm) e quattro dimensioni delle piantine (Z1= Extra Large (150-175 g), Z2= Large (125-150 g), Z3= Medium (100-125 g), Z4= Small (75-100 g)). Le osservazioni sono state registrate sull'altezza della pianta, il numero di rami plant-1, i giorni di comparsa delle ombrelle primarie, secondarie e terziarie, i giorni al 50% di fioritura e i giorni al 50% di maturit dei semi nelle ombrelle primarie, secondarie e terziarie, il numero di ombrelle secondarie e terziarie plant-1, numero di ombrelli secondari e terziari per metro quadrato, diametro degli ombrelli primari, secondari e terziari, resa dei semi per ombrelli primari, secondari e terziari, resa dei semi per pianta-1, resa dei semi per parcella-1, peso di 100 semi degli ombrelli primari, secondari e terziari, germinazione dei semi negli ombrelli primari, secondari e terziari.

This book examines electoral politics in the state of Punjab, India as it has evolved since the colonial period. It underlines the emergence of the state as a singular unit for electoral analysis in the last three decades.This book: Charts the common trends and developments that have dominated politics in Punjab, and those that continue to play an important role in the government of the state; Examines state parties and their leadership in the context of party alliances, campaigns and electoral verdicts; Presents a comparative study of the assembly and Lok Sabha elections held in the state after reorganisation in 1966 with the objective of highlighting differences in electoral issues taken up by the parties. An important intervention in the study of state-level politics in India, this book will be of great interest to students and researchers of politics, especially comparative politics and political institutions, political sociology and social anthropology, and South Asian studies.

The present investigation entitled "Standardization of steckling size and spacing for quality seed production of carrot (Daucus carota L.) under temperate conditions" was initiated at Urban Technology Park, Habbak, Division of Vegetable Science, SKUAST-Kashmir during 2013-2014. The experiment was laid out in Randomized Complete Block Design with three replications. Four spacing (S1= 60 cm x 30 cm, S2= 60 cm x 45 cm, S3= 60 cm x 60 cm and S4= 60 cm x 75 cm) and four steckling sizes (Z1= Extra Large (150-175 g), Z2= Large (125-150 g), Z3= Medium (100-125 g), Z4= Small (75-100 g)) were used. Observations were recorded on plant height, number of branches plant-1, days to emergence of primary, secondary and tertiary umbels, days to 50 % flowering and days to 50 % seed maturity in primary, secondary and tertiary umbels, number of secondary and tertiary umbels plant-1, number of secondary and tertiary umbels per square metre, diameter of primary, secondary and tertiary umbels, seed yield per primary, secondary and tertiary umbels, seed yield plant-1, seed yield plot-1, 100 seed weight of primary, secondary and tertiary umbels, seed germination in primary, secondary and tertiary umbels.

This book studies Indian overseas labour migration in the nineteenth and early twentieth centuries, which involved millions of Indians traversing the globe in the age of Empire, subsequent to the abolition of slavery in 1833. This migration led to the presence of Indians and their culture being felt all over the world. This study delves deep into the lives of these indentured workers from India who called themselves girmitiyas; it is a narrative of their experiences in India and in the sugar colonies abroad. It foregrounds the alternative world view of the girmitiyas, and their socio-cultural and religious life in the colonies. In this book, the author has developed highly original insights into the experience of colonial indentured migrant labour, describing the ways in which migrants managed to survive and even flourish within the interstices of the indentured labour system and how considerably the experience of migration changed over time.
