There is an ancient text in the Vedic tradition that goes by the name of Markandeya Purana. It gives various rituals and customs for family and society to observe and follow, to lead a happy and successful life. These customs are based on observing the life of real people, how they faced difficulties and overcame challenges and vagaries. Written by sage Markandeya (of Maha Mrityunjaya Mantra fame) it consists of 137 chapters. Its thirteen chapters from 81 to 93 consisting of 700 verses are called Devi Mahatmya, also as Chandi Path, which is today famous as the Durga Saptashati.Within the Durga Saptashati, there are some verses known as the Devi Stuti or the Tantrokta Devi Sukta. Today it has become a custom to sing the Devi Stuti in a prayerful and soulful manner, that spreads cheer and brings great good fortune to the participants. This book is an attempt to elucidate the deep secrets enshrined in these verses, so that the English medium school children can benefit, thereby this knowledge can spread far and wide and reach every home.----------------या देवी सर्वभूतेषु चेतनेत्यभिधीयते ।नमस्तस्यै नमस्तस्यै नमस्तस्यै नमो नमः ॥ ७yā devī sarvabhūteṣu cetanetyabhidhīyate ।namastasyai namastasyai namastasyai namo namaḥ ॥ 7या देवी सर्व-भूतेषु चेतना इति अभिधीयते ।नमः तस्यै नमः तस्यै नमः तस्यै नमः नमः ॥याf1/1 that देवी f1/1 goddess सर्व-भूतेषु n7/3 residing in all-beings चेतना f1/1 consciousness इति 0 thus अभि-धीयते लट्iii/1 closely-she supports । नमः n2/1 offer bowing down तस्यै f4/1 to thee नमः n2/1 salute तस्यै f4/1 her नमः n2/1 greet तस्यै f4/1 her नमः n2/1 as an act of humble obeisance नमः n2/1 felicitation to she ॥----------------Contains Original verses in Sanskrit with a Latin transliteration and a lucid English commentary. मित् is a grammatical classification in the Dhatupatha. It applies Ashtadhyayi Sutra 6.4.92 मितां ह्रस्वः to specific Roots in Dhatupatha. 7.2.116 अत उपधायाः । For Roots having penultimate अ that end in a consonant, the penultimate अ takes Vriddhi for Affixes having ञ् or ण् Tag. Note: Primary Root Verb forms for 1c - 9c Roots are unaffected. Applies only for Secondary णिजन्तः Verbs. 6.4.92 मितां ह्रस्वः । For Roots classified as मित् i.e. with म् Tag, their penultimate vowel before the causative णिच् is shortened. This मित् classification is given to specific Roots in the Dhatupatha, by Gana Sutras. This is a grammatical system to ensure that Root to Verb Spellings can be derived correctly and be accurate. For मित् Roots for making णिजन्तः Verb Spellings, Sutras 7.2.116 and 6.4.92 apply consecutively. By 7.2.116 the penultimate अकारः becomes आकारः । By 6.4.92 the penultimate आकारः reverts back to अकारः । Roots of Dhatupatha on which 7.2.116 can apply: -Roots having penultimate अ and final consonant. -Thus it cannot apply to इदित् Roots, since we get penultimate न् -It cannot apply to Roots with final conjunct. -It cannot apply to 10c कथादिः Roots 1851 कथ to 1943 तुत्थ since there is penultimate consonant and final अ Roots of Dhatupatha on which 6.4.92 can apply: -Roots classified as मित् by Gana Sutras in Dhatupatha -It can apply to all मित् Roots that have penultimate vowel -Thus it can apply to Root 778 हेड वेष्टने that is मित् and has penultimate vowel. (This is the only मित् Root in Dhatupatha with penultimate vowel other than अकारः ) -Some मित् Roots are इदित् (e.g. 769 क्षजि गतिदानयोः ) so Sutra 6.4.92 cannot apply -Some मित् Roots have final conjunct (e.g. 999 रञ्ज रागे ) so 6.4.92 applies only when न् drops and we have penultimate अ -It cannot apply to 10c कथादिः Roots 1851 कथ to 1943 तुत्थ since there is penultimate consonant and final अ ------ There are some Roots in the Dhatupatha whose Secondary णिच् Verb Forms are मित् । These have been neatly collected for accurate Verb Spelling. 3x3 Parasmaipada and Atmanepada Verb Tables have been given for these Roots in कर्त्तरि Present Tense. ------ Lists the Dhatupatha, Alphabetical Index of Dhatus, and Maheshwar Sutras and Pratyaharas for in-depth understanding.

The sweetest nectar is the Bhagavad Gita, Words of enduring wisdom spoken by the Lord himself. "Leave it all to me, O Devout Seeker. Anything and Everything shall be granted, this is my solemn promise." "Be SMILING. Go on with Confidence. May your Heart be Happy. May your cup be full to the brim." The heart of the Gita. Quintessential Wisdom. Lucidly written to give clarity in the workings of the MIND, the SENSES, the MEMORY. A synthesis of KARMA JNANA BHAKTI from this ancient text, that graces the home of every Indian, and is read all over the globe.
