I have the best seat in the house; I'm the best friend of the heroine My job is pretty simple. Pop up to exposit information or teach the heroine the mechanics of the game. Then I get to witness a bunch of hot guys fall in love with my friend and I don't have to worry about banishment or death, so she can pick anyone she wants Good ending. Bad ending. I'm safe

Doll rules are not for everyone, especially for Daisie Moon. After all, Daisie is not just an ordinary doll, maybe not even a doll at all When the magical Daisie lands on the shores of Philadelphia in 1789, after falling overboard from a ship, she pretends that she cannot walk, talk, or think, in spite of the fact that she can So no one will guess that she is more than a doll, she tries to sit still and smile all day long. This soon proves to be impossible for Daisie as she wants to have adventures in America, but still worries what might happen if people find out who she really is?Lady Rules are not for everyone either. At first, Eliza Principle, a girl of twelve years, dreams of attending Dame School to learn embroidery and to follow the strict rules of ladylike behavior. When Betsy Ross brings Daisie to Eliza as a gift, Eliza sees that she could be more popular with Polly Comstock and the older girls at her school if Daisie were at her side Will Daisie and Eliza have to break the rules to become the girls who they imagine they can be--ones who are responsible and self-reliant, and can read the Latin names of the flowers at Mr. Charles Peale's museum, find foreign countries on the world globe, and ride a horse through town?

The year is somewhere around 1811. Daisie Moon looks like a doll but is not one because she can walk, talk, and think for herself. She hangs on to Annie O and Fern as they gallop on the back of their pony and away from the mean cotton mill boss, Mr. Roughnickel. Running away deep into the forest, they meet Coletta the Great and her travelling circus. They join up with the clowns and the circus dogs, as Coletta promises them that they will learn to do tricks in their own acts. Besides, they have nowhere else to go. No one at the circus minds that Daisie can walk and talk. Everyone at the circus is special. Daisie meets a wind-up doll named Solange who stars in a trapeze act of her own. Daisie would love to make friends with her, but will she have to fly high up in the air with Solange? Fern is happy at the circus. Annie O is not. Why would she be? She does chores all day long for Coletta. When the circus travels to Nantucket Island, Annie O meets Maria Mitchell, the soon-to-be famous astronomer. Will they be friends? Annie O hopes so. Will it be her chance to leave the circus where she is so unhappy and will Daisie leave with her?
Gender, Management and Leadership in Initial Teacher Education
This book highlights the difficulties that women working as managers and leaders in initial teacher education face. Teacher education is at the forefront of education reforms and yet little is known about the professional lives of those who work within it. Whereas many women are moving into positions of authority in teacher training, some existing women managers are being marginalized within new internally differentiated layers of managerial structures. Yet other female managers, mainly new appointees, seem to endorse the discourses associated with new managerialist practices. Simultaneously some women who manage in teacher training are engaged in a struggle for survival individually and professionally. In the main, men seem to be missing from authority positions and will conclude that, in the current climate, the management of teacher training is ‘no job for a man’.

"This book is a manual of nursing procedures originally prepared for the students of the University of Minnesota School of Nursing, written to obviate the necessity of note-taking by the students during the presentation of demonstration by the instructor . . . On the whole the manual is excellent. An instructor would find it of great value in planning her demonstration. It would be difficult to improve upon the simplicity and clarity with which the steps of the procedures are given." -Pacific Coast Journal of Nursing Nursing Procedures was first published in 1929.
