Bobbie Sue: Life of an Appalachian Woman is, as the title says, the life story of the author. It is a candid reflection of the human spirit desperately trying to rise out of poverty into independence, attempting to create better choices for her children and the forces that blocked that faith and hope in a vacuum of hopelessness. It is about loss of all those who loved the author and understood her and those who tried to destroy her dreams and her faith at any price.
