Petey's owners are going out for the afternoon leaving him at home. Poor Petey? Not so much. Petey has come into possession of one of his owner's cell phones. He makes a few phone calls and soon enough a group of his friends show up. Petey has scheduled a number of play activities interspersed with typical dog behaviors--chasing a bouncing ball, destroying cardboard boxes, eating smelly disgusting things, sleeping in incredibly uncomfortable positions, etc. Any dog owner/lover will easily relate to the humorous illustrations. When his owners return they are none the wiser at all the activities that have taken place. This is a picture book that will appeal to all ages.

Salt Water City is an island kingdom blessed with beautiful beaches and rich green forests. Many visitors come to enjoy the peaceful surroundings--they walk the forest paths and stroll the pristine beaches. They come for a sense of renewal. On a cold windy night, however, a new group of visitors descend upon Salt Water City. These are the Green Greedies--spell weaving gremlins. When they weave their magic spells around the king and his court the people of Salt Water City begin noticing changes in their little kingdom.

Willie is standing on the beach and looks up. He sees a message in the sky and rides his bike home. Later that night he is visited by an unknown force in the form of a mist or cloud. It invites him on a journey of discovery. Throughout the summer the clouds return many times in different forms and Willie accepts their invitation to explore. Maybe we are not alone. Maybe there has been an intelligent life form here since the beginning. Could it have wisdom that it wishes to share? Can we learn from it?
