Join the Indigo Warriors as they embark on an action-packed adventure, working together to save the environment, help the homeless, care for animals, and change society’s attitudes towards the disabled, using both direct action and politics to achieve their goals. The six children aim to promote kindness and compassion over cruelty and greed, assisted by a hapless guardian angel. When they meet on a school bus, Polly, Angela, Peter, Noah, Josh and Jet decide to join forces and set out to help planet Earth and its inhabitants: human and non-human. Calling themselves the Indigo Warriors, they have meetings, argue a lot, often come to wrong conclusions, and find themselves in danger at the hands of a criminal gang. Struggling to decide whose cause matters most, they distil their ideas into a ‘Manifesto for a Better Life’ but can they get their manifesto to the people who matter … the politicians?

Farmer Moon is a children's story addressing how wrong bullying, racism, discrimination and abuse are. It is written in a child-friendly way, set on the fictional Oak Tree Farm, where Farmer Moon lives with his beloved animals. It tells the story of how a wicked Red Fox pays a visit to the farm as night descends. In the eerie darkness he teases, threatens, bullies and terrorises the animals. " Who ever saw a cat with only three legs? " snapped Red Fox, as poor Gus limped towards the safety of the farmhouse." He then darts off to the pigsty to taunt the black piglet. Farmer Moon is distraught when he hears from the animals about the wicked Red Fox`s visit the previous night. When Mick, the wise old sheepdog and the hero of the story, returns to the farm and hears from Farmer Moon about the traumas his animals have experienced, he decides to confront the wicked Red Fox. That night, as Red Fox returns to have more fun bullying and tormenting the animals, Mick stops him in his tracks. He explains how wrong it is to cause so much upset to the animals or anyone, through his bullying, taunts and threats. Due to Mick`s wise words Red Fox shows deep remorse, shame and regret for his wicked deeds. He promises to mend his ways and with tears running down his face, he tells Mick how sorry he is. Showing kindness, compassion and forgiveness, Farmer Moon, Mick the sheepdog and all the animals invite Red Fox to live with them at Oak Tree Farm and become part of their family. Never again did Red Fox return to his bullying and threatening ways and to this day he respects the feelings of others, remembering 'Bullies Never Win!' Farmer Moon and all the animals embraced their new family member, and how did they celebrate? Well that`s for you to discover!!

Political Illustration introduces students of illustration, visual communication, art, and political science to how political illustration works, when it’s used and why. Through a variety of examples – from the coins of Julius Caesar to contemporary art challenging Indigenous American stereotypes – the book covers propaganda, the impact of media, censorship, and taboo, and the role of contentious politics and dissent art. A wide range of contemporary illustration mediums are included, including street art, the graphic novel, and mixed assemblage illustration, in order to examine the role of media and technique in political messaging. The book features breakout interviews and case studies on prominent global political illustrators (like Edel Rodriguez, Anita Kunz and Fabian Williams) and full color examples. The authors include an introduction to semiotics, visual grammar, and visual communication theory, and how these approaches contribute to the decoding of political messages – and how these tactics are used by those ruling, and those being ruled. In particular, the authors look at political illustration, protest art and propaganda related to:- American and European Imperialism- Japanese internment- The World Wars- The Soviet Union and China- Dictatorships in Africa and South America- Civil Rights movements - Contemporary protests and marches, including the Women’s March (2017) and the Egyptian Revolution (2011)- …and many more periods, events and movements

The 'borrowings' in Borrowings of the Shan Van Vocht are Bog Bodies--naturally preserved corpses-- displayed sometimes like sideshow curiosities in museums worldwide. These bodies are titled after the bog, melting and churning, which exhumed them. In creating a lyrical voice for these nameless, Catherine Moore kept in mind what modern-day forensics reveals about the nature of life and death for bodies recovered from the bogs--the what of their diets, the ways their occupations or illnesses marked their bodies, and the how behind their death. The forces of nature at work on the bog lands are also given voice in this collection--wind, sun, and the Shan Van Vocht, the bog, itself. "Shan Van Vocht" is a phonetic transliteration of the Gaelic phrase (tSeanbhean bhocht) for the land goddess, its meaning translates as Poor Old Woman. In modern druid terms, it's similar to Mother Nature. Using Gaelic in the collection's title was instinctive since peat bog covers 17% of Ireland's surface. Other large bog lands are found in Canada and throughout Scandinavian countries. It is interesting to note that we know little of the Bog Bodies from Canada, as those corpses are honored with protection and, therefore, absent for this collection. Poems within this collection were nominated for The Pushcart and The Best of the Net literary awards.
