Lisa has a bit of a problem. She has to go to high school and leave all her friends from middle school behind. But there is a group of bully boys who do horrible things to her from day one. They drag her into the woods and rape her, and throw pebbles and other hard implements at her in class when things get quiet. Basically they make her life in high school a living nightmare. Lisa manages to find solace in her friend Davy, but does not want her father to know about the torment at school. But Davy does not want her to let the things those bullies do to her slide off her back. He wants to see them punished, as does Lisa's father when he finds out about them. This story is based in part on actual events. There is some harsh language and scenes that are not suitable for small children in this book. Reader discretion is advised.

This is the story of a little pteropod bat, known as a "flying dragon", that literally crashes in on a family of a single mom and her two teenage daughters, May and Soul. The young bat winds up with a broken wing, and the mom decides to take the injured bat into her home and nurse it back to health. May is anxious to help, but Soul cannot get over her hatred for bats. Not even knowing the fact that bats are actually our friends, not our foes. While the young bat is staying with them, they learn a little bit about the animals, and how they benefit people. And they also learn a little lesson about having compassion for animals of all kinds. Even animals you don't like. This story is a lot of fun for people of all ages!

The driver though almost does not want to take Kathy, Caroline and all of Stanley's friends on this trip as well as Stanley. But he finally relents and agrees to take Stanley and his friends on the trip. But now that they are on the trip, they face some problems. While Stanley is off with his class, Kathy and Caroline have to find their own things to do. Kathy finds a horseback riding group, and Caroline has fun just watching the ocean. Kathy has a problem, she cannot really ride a horse! But she refuses to give up. This story is great for people of all ages!

The story of a mature bushbaby named Lucy, who lives in an exotic animal collection in New York, meets a lost baby otter shrew named Jafar, who is a very long way from home! He lives in Uganda, Lucy has no idea where that is. Jafar is quite young and scared now that he is so far from home. But Lucy promises to get him back to his home, no matter what it takes. There is quite a bit of turbulence though. But Lucy made a promise already and she plans to keep that promise. So once she springs him loose, they are off on their way to Africa! It is a land far away and it takes several months to get there. In the meantime, Jafar is growing up in size, but not in spirit. He wants Lucy to stay with him forever. Lucy cannot do it, but after a while she relents. But is not happy. Find out what happens in this harrowing tale of two friends. One is trying to help the other, and the other just wants to be a little bit selfish. So will Jafar really grow up and learn to fend for himself?

Genny is UMG's own sex symbol. Well, this story was her very first appearance in UMG Productions. Genny is a Hollywood actress who makes her way to the Sydney Opera House to perform for the town. Martin wants desperately to meet her while she is in town, as she is his favorite movie star. At first she does not take well to him. But with his determination and charm, he manages to get close to her, and they get to know each other and make great friends. Find out how Martin did it. This is definitely the beginning of a beautiful friendship and long-lasting relationship between Martin and Genny.

Martin and Genny are back again for another adventure! This time, Genny is entering a beauty contest, and Martin is the judge! Genny tries to campaign and secure her place in the winner's circle with Martin, but he is staying true to his title. When the time comes to judge the beauties, Martin has 3 of his gang members with him to learn, and learn they do! They learn how to correctly judge the girls based on presence and confirmation, not by friendship or closeness. But Genny has a bit of a trick up her sleeve, that gets her banned from the beauty ring for life. Find out what happens, and why she gets banned. Purely an anecdote story, though it centers around compassion for animals with a happy, and somewhat humorous, ending. Caroline appears in this story, it's one of the few times this 80s child is used in the 90s. Also appearing is Andy Anaconda, also known as "The Mad Anaconda". He loves to grab warm and fuzzy animals into his coils and squeeze them until they are unconscious. Caroline is innocently visiting downtown when she comes across the snake. It looks like all is lost, until Uncle Martin and the Gang step in with Rosa, who has veterinary experience. She takes care of Caroline while waiting for the real doctors to get to her.
