Charles Perrault (1628-1703) est un crivain r put du XVII me si cle. Il consacra une grande partie de son activit collecter et retranscrire les contes issus de la tradition orale. On le consid re comme l'inventeur de ce genre litt raire appel conte merveilleux. Charles Perrault publie ses premiers contes partir de 1691: - La Marquise de Salusses ou la Patience de Griselidis - Les Souhaits ridicules - Peau d' ne - La Belle au bois dormant - Le Petit Chaperon rouge - La Barbe bleue - Le Ma tre chat ou le Chat bott - Les F es - Cendrillon ou la Petite Pantoufle de verre ( verre tant la graphie exacte utilis e dans l' dition originale de 1697)3 - Riquet la houppe - Le Petit Poucet - Peau d' ne En 1697, il publie les Contes de ma m re l'Oye (la m re l'Oye est le nom de la conteuse dans cet ouvrage), oeuvre dans laquelle les contes sont am nag s pour donner une port e morale au r cit afin de servir l' ducation des jeunes enfants.
