Low Power Wide Area Network (LPWAN) steht als Oberbegriff f r viele unterschiedliche Protokolle. Neben dem hier betrachteten LoRa stehen Sigfox, LTE-M, Weightless, Symphony Link und einige andere im Wettbewerb. Im Gegensatz zu einigen anderen Protokollen ist der LoRa-Standard Open Source und nicht propriet r. Das ist ein Grund f r das rasante Wachstum von LoRaWAN-Netzwerken ber ganze L nder, beginnend in den Ballungszentren. Hier werden mit sehr einfachen Mitteln und zu niedrigen Kosten LoRaWAN-Sensorknoten entwickelt, die ihre Daten an einen LoRaWAN-Server senden. Von diesem sind die Daten abrufbar und in eine beliebige Anwendung integrierbar. The Things Network stellt mit seinem dezentrale Open-Source-Netzwerk die erforderliche Infrastruktur bereit. Wer bislang mit einem Arduino erste Erfahrungen sammeln konnte, der ist bestens auf diese zukunftstr chtige Aufgabenstellung vorbereitet und kann erste praktische Erfahrungen im Internet of Things sammeln.

BASIC Stamp: An Introduction to Microcontrollers introduces microcontroller theory using the Parallax BASIC Stamp I, II, and IIsx. The BASIC Stamp microcontroller is based on Microchip's PIC hardware with some modifications and is very approachable for beginning users. These applications can be used as is or as a basis for further modifications to suit specific design needs.
