If you love to escape into the struggles and triumphs of solidly built characters in a post climate-change world where tech reigns and magic is forgotten but not gone, this is the the book for you.Twelve thousand years ago, on the banks of a yellow river in the place that would come to be called China, magic all but left the world when a reckless murder was committed by an angst-ridden teenage girl. An angry ghost was trapped in a crystal prison and an unlucky few souls were fused to its improbable existence forever, doomed to an eternal torment of maddening shared memories. Now in 2096, the story's present and our future, magic is the stuff of ancient myth and science and technology rule the world. Far from its ancient origins on a rain-soaked island in the Aotearoa archipelago (formerly New Zealand), the legacy of the ghost in the stone begins to stir again. Unsuspecting of the catastrophe about to unfold, Nate, Chen and Tina, three young people struggle with their different pasts and present hardships, from day to day and pay to pay. But the ancient ghost rages louder in its torment and strains with ever increasing urgency at the weakening chains of power that bind it. Strange earthquakes gather force off the coast of Akarana Island and when an old house is demolished, something unbreakable is broken and Nate, Chen, Tina and everyone in the world will be drawn into the legacy of the curse of the ghost in the Stone whether they believe in such things or not.

The most striking characteristic of these poems is the use of vivid phrases used by the poet. No doubt, while reading the poems in the poetry collection, we are struck at once by the fact that the poems are full of great depth and simplicity. Due to melody of diction in these poems, the sound of the words and phrases lingers in the mind for a long time. BIOWhile a graduate student in California Mr. Willliams won first place in the prestigious Phelan Awards for a satirical poem. From that point forward his life has been spent experiencing classical poetry, post-modern verse and honing his own lines into powerful expressions. Cancer and chronic disease are a rapidly increasing global health burden: according to the Milken Institute, the annual cost to the national US economy of the seven most common chronic conditions will rise to $4.2 trillion by 2023. The data are just as dramatic in Canada, Europe, Australia, and increasingly, in countries in the developing world. As communities, governments, and health organizations worldwide struggle to avoid being swamped by health care costs – not to mention the impact of suffering and poor quality of life – the only long-term, sustainable hope must be based on prevention efforts. This book presents a promising new approach to educating, engaging, empowering, and generating action within communities as part of that broader prevention agenda. The authors review representative global experiences with community based prevention educators, focusing on the prevention coordination work that can be accomplished within geographical areas ranging from local communities to broader regions. Among the findings they reveal in this book are the fundamental elements of successful Community Based Prevention programs – skilled staff, high-quality evaluation, and sustained investment in prevention efforts.
