The story of Karen Parker, widow, mother, warrior. After losing her husband to cancer, Karen moves to Cleveland, hoping to restart her once promising career as a journalist. Her sons, not fully appreciating the difference between their Kansas farm and the bad side of Cleveland venture out into the night where they are accosted by a ruthless drug dealer. Cornered with no hope of escape, a stranger steps in to save the boys. Tommy and Paul. Later Tommy and the stranger mysteriously disappear. Karen must find him before the drug dealer or the government kills him.
