Project Brevis was an ambitious endeavor, a groundbreaking experiment, but it went terribly wrong. And when the fate of the Universe was in the balance, there arose a team of brilliant scientists, one courageous soldier, and one very special child. In the year 2046, two physicists have devised Brevis to open a portal through fourth dimensional hyperspace. The younger, Joseph Koenig is frustrated because they have had no success. But his more experienced partner, Alain Moreau counsels patience. Then, in December of 2048, they get their successful hit, and the portal opens. They have broken the dimensional barrier Koenig knows they will be revered as great figures of science. Life is good Until the following week. As Koenig is hosting a party to celebrate success, the mood is broken when he receives a call informing him that a body has been discovered in his lab. Things begin to unravel; they realize an unexpected anomaly is causing the portal to expand uncontrollably. Drastic measures are required to save the world. Due to an equipment malfunction, this effort nearly fails, but for a heroic Sergeant who sacrifices himself to fix the equipment in time. But the story is not over. Because when the dimensional portal was opened, it admitted Callum, an entity of pure elemental consciousness. And Callum, along with Koenig's eccentric genius son, Christopher, will ultimately lead humanity... where?A clue? It's not the first time Callum has been here. With imagination, complex characters and plot twists, The Callum Emergence carries the theme of interdimensional travel through unexpected, and troubling directions, to a conclusion that will leave you breathless, and wanting more David Robertson Miller is the author of Thou Shalt Not Scoff (A Rational Unity of Religion and Science), The Rogue and Other Stories, and The Pipes Are Calling, as well as numerous volumes of poetry and music.

Science, and Religion. Material vs. Spiritual, Concrete vs. Abstract, Tangible vs. Ethereal. Seemingly opposite concepts, with very real implications for life and reality, often considered incompatible on various points, a conflict that has seemingly gone on forever. Rarely is there true mediation, a sincere attempt to present both aspects in a fair, logical light, providing validity and respect to both. Many wholeheartedly believe in the tenets of science; many also wholeheartedly believe in God, a supreme being, an intelligent, creative life-force, a Universal Consciousness. And, some of us wholeheartedly believe that these two are NOT mutually exclusive, nor that there needs to be such a conflict, such a wide chasm between the two, and if they would just get together, if BOTH sides could LISTEN open-mindedly to each other, they could come to understand and respect each other, and find common ground. Because there is much common ground to be found. With insight and imagination, and occasional poignancy and humor, Miller offers a clear and respectful presentation of both sides of the argument, and some logical common ground.

Randall Grey was fifty-two years old; he would not see fifty-three. He had spent the last sixteen years in this ten-by-ten-foot cell, seeing the light of day, feeling the warm sun or the cool rain, for one hour out of twenty-four. Tomorrow morning, he would pay for the brutal murder of his cheating wife. Frank Bianco was a good ol' boy, a rural North Carolina hard-working family man. He drove a Ford pickup, took his family to church more Sundays than not, and kept his grass cut nice and neat. He played softball and horseshoes, coached little league football, and more than anything else, he loved to fish. Randall had been highly successful. An independent manufacturers' representative, he made millions for his clients, and millions of his own.Frank had inherited his father's contracting business. While he was an excellent carpenter and craftsman, he was an inept businessman, and he was on the verge of bankruptcy.Randall Grey and Frank Bianco, the ruthless murderer and the kind family man, as different as two people could possibly be, until that July morning when their lives suddenly and violently converged. Now, Randall has a second chance at life, and that life is driven by one thing: Revenge.David Robertson Miller is the author of "Thou Shalt Not Scoff, A Rational Unity of Science and Religion," and "The Rogue and Other Stories," as well as numerous collections of poetry and music. Dave lives with his wife, Ann, and their dog, Buddy, in the North Carolina barrier islands, in a little house called, "Island Time.""The Pipes Are Calling" is his debut novel.

The goal of every pastor, missionary, and lay leader in the evangelical church is to proclaim the word of God accurately. And, one of the key components of accurate biblical interpretation is the understanding of the Bible's original languages. While some Bible teachers forego learning Hebrew and Greek altogether, many men and women seek their language training by buying books to study on their own, others look for free online courses and videos to provide this instruction, while still others commit to formal theological training through higher education. Each of those language-learning formats (print, digital, and guided) are effective educational tools, but the problem is that each of those formats are primarily based on the same, antiquated teaching method. This book analyzes and assesses the current biblical language pedagogy from the vantage point of over thirty prominent professionals in the field of New Testament Greek. Their insight provides some of the first formal data on the usefulness and effectiveness of the Grammar-Translation Method for teaching biblical languages today. Additionally, this book will introduce a unique and cutting-edge approach to the process of teaching and learning the original languages of the word of God.

""If you really care about students and pastors competently reading the Greek New Testament, then you should read David Miller's insightful study. His observations and prescriptions will enable Greek teachers to be more deliberate and effective in their pedagogy."" --Robert L. Plummer, Professor of New Testament, The Southern Baptist Theological Seminary ""A careful assessment of the way New Testament Greek is taught in contemporary Christian colleges and seminaries is long overdue. The problem of the overwhelming neglect of biblical Greek--by those trained in the subject--for adding depth to sermon content in American pulpits is ubiquitous. David Miller understands the underlying causes and offers realistic pedagogical strategies aimed at giving students exegetical skills that will produce sound interpretive content for pulpit ministry."" --Michael S. Heiser, Executive Director, Celebration School of Ministry ""Possessing both experience as Greek teacher and a doctorate in education, David Miller is uniquely positioned to write this book. This book is not only full of valuable data, it also offers a positive way forward without abandoning those traditional elements that have proven helpful. If you teach Greek, you owe it to your students to read this book."" --Benjamin L. Merkle, Professor of New Testament and Greek, Southeastern Baptist Theological Seminary ""There are multitudes of former students of Greek who have lost any ability they may have had to read the Greek New Testament with comprehension. Knowing a language does not ensure the ability to teach that language effectively to others. David Miller has analyzed and applied standard principles of pedagogy to our discipline. He not only has shown how our teaching methods have often been ineffective, he has also shown how we can help to increase our students' acquisition and retention of Greek."" --William Varner, Professor of Biblical Studies, The Master's University David Miller earned three degrees in biblical studies before focusing his doctoral work on the educational process of language-learning. He has taught and mentored students at various levels since 2010. He lives with his wife Alayna and their two children in North Carolina.
