A Way You Have to Be: ((Tetralogy-Eighteen Short Stories) (In English and Spanish))
Here is the fourth book (a Tetralogy) of Dr. Siluk's autobiography short stories (in English and Spanish), whether in the traditional form of the short story, poetic prose, biography, each story is a piece of history and complete within itself. He does not hold back from the drunk, to the miscellaneous workers of everyday life. Furthermore, and perhaps more so in this book than his previous three, he tells the stories of many of his travels, with humor, realism, some may think even fantasy, but most of all with love for the different people he has met on his journeys. He has put this fourth book into the same category of his previous trilogy: "In My Time," and "Men among Men," also "Times and Seasons," now to make it a tetralogy, comes "A Way You Have to Be," consisting of eighteen short stories, some more like sketches. Again, Dr. Siluk uses his penname or pseudonym, Chick Evens, as he has in his previous trilogy. Within this book you will visit Minnesota, Amsterdam, Germany, Luxemburg, France, Alabama, Vietnam, Mexico, and Peru. The time period starts in 1954, and ends in 2015.This being his 59th International Book, along with 48-chapbooks. At present two of his books are becoming unobtainable, "The Other Door..." and "The Last Trumpet..." out of print for many years that demand large prices, they have become collectables, and classics.Dr. Dennis L. The novelette, "Susanna of Bethsaida" is a wondrous short novelette, now in English and Spanish, of a Saint, a woman contemporary with Mary from Magdala, both whom walked with Christ, being one of the several female companions to the apostles, whom both discovered their destiny. Drawing on the Gospels of the New Testament, sources from the Vatican library, and other resources, we see Jesus Christ and his entourage, as they follow Him heart, mind and soul, on his journey. In the form of a monologue, Susanna tells the reader her story, her awareness to Christianity's early years and its history changing events, surrounded by a pagan world and martyrs such as John the Baptist, as this new faith emerges. Susanna, seldom written about, and surely never in a novel or novelette, to my knowledge, here for the first time one may actually visualize the holy women that followed our Lord in the First Century A.D. For the most part, Susanna is the hidden jewel; brought out to sparkle with Mary called Magdalene, Salome, and Joanna. Dr. Siluk and his wife Rosa visited Israel in 2010 A.D., included many of the places-to include Caesarea-where Jesus Christ journeyed followed by his apostles and Susanna and the other holy women. From the award winning Poet Laureate Dr. Dennis L. Siluk's new volume of poetry: "Stars over Germany" (having lived over four years in Germany, in the 1970s). Might be of interest to the reader to know: this book has been in the making for a decade. The first poem was written in 1981, the second and several thereafter in 2006, a few in: 2007, 2008, 2010; the book reedited in 2010 and 2015. The last several poems added in, 2014, and 2015: for total of 26-poems. The author's first book "The Other Door," 1981, bears the first printing of "Bavaria's Harvest" (a Sonnet of Augsburg, Germany); all other poems are unpublished, to include: "German Winter Shower," a Polirritmo poem, written in 2008; unique in its own way, is a lived poem of motion. And a number of new poems, from 2014 and 2015. There are several photographs from the 1970s, and several drawings by the author. To include a watercolor, which was done in 1980 and never before seen by the public, for the poem "W rzburg's Baroque". This is Dr. Siluk's 70th book, and 21th volume of poetry, 2017. Back cover is a photograph of the poet with his twin boys, in the Rhineland, 1974. Dr. Siluk lives with his wife in Peru, and is from Minnesota. Dr. Siluk is also a world traveler.

With the poetic skill of Cesar Vallejo, and handiness of Ricardo Palma, Siluk produces a Peruvian background in a most favorable way. His vantage point, like the poet Par Lagerkvist, is rich with humanism. The author says that some poetry comes from our imagination and passion, like dreams that need daylight for them to be opened up.
