BETWEEN SELVES explores how relationships continually form, fracture and reform our identities; how a parents' long stable marriage affected the poet's headlong, tempestuous search for love. These poems of marriage, conflict, divorce, heritage, desire, loss, mortality, forgetting and remembering, end with acceptance and self-acceptance: "I take nothing back./The sun has reached the day I'm in."
The poems in the poetry collection have been composed in a natural and spontaneous style. The poet has followed Aristotle's maxim: "To think like a wise person but to express oneself like the common people." The lyrical quality and fervor of profound feelings of several poems in this collection are quite attractive. The language of the poems is quite simple devoid of any ornamental artificiality. Here poems are full of profound ideas blended with simplicity of language devoid of any kind of artificial phraseology.
Statistical and mathematical models are defined by parameters that describe different characteristics of those models. Ideally it would be possible to find parameter estimates for every parameter in that model, but, in some cases, this is not possible. For example, two parameters that only ever appear in the model as a product could not be estimated individually; only the product can be estimated. Such a model is said to be parameter redundant, or the parameters are described as non-identifiable. This book explains why parameter redundancy and non-identifiability is a problem and the different methods that can be used for detection, including in a Bayesian context. Key features of this book: Detailed discussion of the problems caused by parameter redundancy and non-identifiability Explanation of the different general methods for detecting parameter redundancy and non-identifiability, including symbolic algebra and numerical methods Chapter on Bayesian identifiability Throughout illustrative examples are used to clearly demonstrate each problem and method. Maple and R code are available for these examples More in-depth focus on the areas of discrete and continuous state-space models and ecological statistics, including methods that have been specifically developed for each of these areasThis book is designed to make parameter redundancy and non-identifiability accessible and understandable to a wide audience from masters and PhD students to researchers, from mathematicians and statisticians to practitioners using mathematical or statistical models.
Spirit Translator is a remarkable book that gives readers the tools to find and connect with their spirit guide. Author Diana Cole outlines her own walk with spirit - how she went from being disempowered and uncertain in her relationships and career to confident and bold with the help of her spirit guide. In her work as a spirit translator, Diana has asked spirit thousands of questions on behalf of her clients and herself. These messages are distilled into seven key lessons which form the backbone of the book. Most importantly, Diana helps readers meet and begin a new relationship with their own spirit guides, a dialogue which will transform their lives. Diana Cole has an extensive social media presence - over 1.2 million Facebook followers - that she will be leveraging to promote the book. She runs online courses on the topic of spirit translation and will be offering a paid membership site launching this fall. Her platform continues to grow and offers wonderful opportunities for an aggressive pre-order campaign and marketing initiatives to promote the book. At its heart, Spirit Translator is about self-empowerment and giving readers the knowledge to begin a conversation with spirit that will be a lifelong source of confidence, strength, and clarity.
