DIETRICH BONHOEFFER (1906-1945) on tullut tunnetuksi osallisuudestaan natsi-Saksan aikaiseen vastarintaliikkeeseen sekä hengellisenä opettajana ja kirjoittajana. Moderne økoteologer står i betydelig gæld til Bonhoeffer, ikke mindst til de tanker, han udfolder i disse tekster. Den første tekst er et foredrag, hvori Bonhoeffer udfolder ordene »komme dit rige« fra Fadervor. De to efterfølgende tekster er prædikener, hvor han uddyber sine overvejelser.

Den utkom 1939, hör till hans mest kända och lästa böcker och räknas till de kristna klassikerna. Denna kamp ledde till att han greps av Gestapo, sattes i koncentrationsläger och avrättades den 9 april 1945, bara några veckor före Andra världskrigets slut.
