Årets hefte representerer noe av et comeback for Hårek, siden serien de senere årene har vært en del av en antologi heller enn å få stå på egne bein. Far og sønn Dick og Chris Browne er de mest kjente tegnerne av Hårek, og det burde ikke komme som en overraskelse på noen, at deres viking-tegneserie slo godt an i Norge. Hårek kan være tøff når han drar i viking utenlands, men hjemme er det kona Gyda som har hornene på hjelmen, for å bruke en viking-metafor. Hårek publiseres selvsagt på nynorsk, og i år er det forfatter og dramatiker Olaug Nilssen som har stått for oversettelsen. Forordet er skrevet av Rune Larsen, som trekker fram Hårek som sin soleklare juleheftefavoritt.
