L' tude de l'histoire, et plus particuli rement de l'histoire de l' ducation, peut prendre des contours, des couleurs, des teintes diff rentes (comme nous le dirait Jacques Le Goff). Elle peut, rompant avec le "quoi" habituel, se pr senter par d'autres chemins, dans des promenades qui sonnent diff remment, tout en tant invitantes. C'est ce qu'est ce livre: un dialogue historique distinctif sur l' ducation br silienne au d but du XXe si cle, en l'occurrence celle du coll ge imp rial Pedro II de Rio de Janeiro, sous le regard avide du juge m morialiste Pedro Nava. En analysant les aspects intrins ques et extrins ques de sa production, nous cherchons discuter-produire une sorte d'historiographie transfrontali re: une historiographie dans laquelle les fronti res, sans limites fixes, donnent le ton. L'histoire, la litt rature et l' ducation racontent ensemble une poque, une mani re d' duquer, une culture scolaire dans un certain espace, dans ces temps qui ont form l' lite masculine dominante. Il s'agit donc d'approfondir les nuances de l'histoire de l' ducation d'un espace-temps et, partir de l , de reconna tre les sp cificit s et les similitudes de la r alit qui s'y d roulait et de cette poque qui est la n tre.

Gli studi sulla Storia, e in particolare sulla Storia dell'Educazione, possono assumere contorni, colori, sfumature diverse (come ci direbbe Jacques Le Goff). Pu , rompendo con il solito "che cosa", presentarsi da altri percorsi, in cammini che suonano diversi, ma anche invitanti. Ecco cos' questo libro: un singolare dialogo storico sull'educazione brasiliana all'inizio del XX secolo; in questo caso, quella confinata nel Collegio Imperiale Pedro II di Rio de Janeiro, sotto lo sguardo avido del giudice memorialista Pedro Nava. Analizzando gli aspetti intrinseci ed estrinseci della sua produzione, cerchiamo di discutere-produrre una sorta di storiografia transfrontaliera: una storiografia in cui i confini, senza limiti fissi, danno il tono. Storia, letteratura ed educazione, insieme, raccontano un'epoca, un modo di educare, una cultura scolastica in un certo spazio, in quei tempi che formavano l' lite maschile dominante. Si tratta quindi di addentrarsi nelle sfumature della Storia dell'Educazione di un tempo-spazio e, da l , riconoscere le specificit e le somiglianze della realt che operava l e di questo tempo che il nostro.

Studies on History, and specifically the History of Education, can take on different outlines, colours, hues (as Jacques Le Goff would tell us). It can, breaking with the usual "what", present itself from other paths, in walks that sound different, while also inviting. That's what this book is: a distinctive historical dialogue about Brazilian education at the beginning of the 20th century; in this case, that confined to the Imperial Pedro II College in Rio de Janeiro, under the avid gaze of the memorialist judge Pedro Nava. By analysing the intrinsic and extrinsic aspects of his production, we seek to discuss-produce a kind of cross-border historiography: one in which borders, without such fixed limits, set the tone. History, Literature and Education, together, tell of a time, a way of educating, a school culture in a certain space, in those times that formed the ruling male elite. It is therefore a question of delving into the nuances of the History of Education of a time-space and, from there, recognising the specificities as well as the similarities of the reality that operated there and of this time that is ours.

Das Studium der Geschichte, insbesondere der Bildungsgeschichte, kann verschiedene Konturen, Farben und Schattierungen annehmen (wie Jacques Le Goff sagen w rde). Sie kann sich, indem sie mit dem blichen "Was" bricht, auf anderen Wegen pr sentieren, auf Wegen, die anders klingen, aber auch einladend sind. Das ist es, was dieses Buch ist: ein unverwechselbarer historischer Dialog ber das brasilianische Bildungswesen zu Beginn des 20. Jahrhunderts, in diesem Fall ber das kaiserliche Kolleg Pedro II. in Rio de Janeiro, unter dem eifrigen Blick des Gedenkrichters Pedro Nava. Indem wir die inneren und u eren Aspekte seiner Produktion analysieren, versuchen wir, eine Art grenz berschreitende Geschichtsschreibung zu er rtern: eine, in der die Grenzen ohne solche festen Grenzen den Ton angeben. Geschichte, Literatur und Bildung erz hlen gemeinsam von einer Zeit, einer Art der Erziehung, einer Schulkultur in einem bestimmten Raum, in einer Zeit, die die herrschende m nnliche Elite bildete. Es geht also darum, in die Nuancen der Bildungsgeschichte eines Zeitraums einzutauchen und von dort aus die Besonderheiten, aber auch die Gemeinsamkeiten der dortigen Realit t und unserer Zeit zu erkennen.
