In the east, there is a vast, open, unknown land, which the mountains do not cut off and which may hold a frightening secret: a challenge to their own views of themselves and of their unique place in the world. In the west looms a foreboding forest, separating them from Eden, and perhaps holding a secret of its ownthe new dwelling place of their old enemy who deceived them in the Garden.
