A handsome, high-profile and tenacious defense attorney. Three elusive suspects. An investigation that stretches across four decades. And two frenetic murder trials. "Decades of Doubt: the John McCabe Murder Saga" is a gripping true-life mystery that follows the case of a 15-year-old boy bound and strangled in Massachusetts in 1969, the ensuing investigation that continues for over forty years, and the shocking events of the resulting trials. As defense counsel for one of three men charged with the crime, New Hampshire attorney Eric Wilson undermines the State's evidence, destroys the credibility of the prosecution's star witness, and overcomes insurmountable odds in an attempt to bankrupt the prosecution's case. And even before the verdict is rendered, Wilson again raises the question to which readers will beg for an answer: who really killed John McCabe?

On the 6th October 1974, a crime of most heinous proportions was committed. It would become one of the most baffling and infamous unsolved crimes in Australian history. Two female trainee nurses, hitchhiking from Brisbane to the inland township of Goondiwindi on the Queensland-New South Wales border, were to disappear forever. Twenty-one months later their skeletal remains would be discovered in the bush at Murphys Creek, situated at the foothills of the Toowoomba ranges. They had both been hogtied, raped and bludgeoned to death. In April 2013 and thirty-nine years after their murders, a six day Coronial Inquest into their deaths had commenced. Over thirty witnesses, including three persons of interest, would be subpoenaed to give evidence. The Inquest would create immense publicity and shine a spotlight upon the dark underbelly of Toowoomba's past. The author is the brother of one of those murdered girls. He has documented his quest to discover the truth of what happened to his sister and her friend in his previous book, The Echo of Silent Screams. It set the wheels in motion for this last investigation. This is his ongoing personal story to pursue justice for his sister, Lorraine Wilson, and her friend, Wendy Evans. The $250,000 reward is still current.
The Spectacle of the False-Flag: Parapolitics from JFK to Watergate
Eric Wilson's work poses crucial challenges to social theory, unsettling our understanding of the nature of the liberal democratic state. In The Spectacle of the False Flag, he urges the reader to examine the, often unconsidered, deep state practices that confound conventional notions of the state as monolithic or uniform. This compelling volume traces deep state conflicts and convergences through central cases in the development of American political economic power-JFK/Dallas, LBJ/Gulf of Tonkin, and Nixon/Watergate.Rigorously documented and unflinchingly analyzed, The Spectacle of the False Flag provides a stunning example of a new criminological practice-one that takes the state seriously, making the inner workings of the state rather than its effects the primary object of study. Drawing upon a wealth of historical records and developing the theoretical insights of Guy Debord's writings on spectacular society, Wilson offers a glimpse into a necessary criminology to come.

Mike Tyson is a cultural phenomenon: heavyweight boxing champion, author, movie and television actor, Broadway star, tiger owner, felon, tabloid gossip mainstay. His memoir, "Undisputed Truth," was a New York Times bestseller. While no one is disputing the truth he tells in his book, it is clear that he has not told the entire story. That task goes to his one-time best friend, entourage wrangler, and manager - Rory Holloway, in "Taming the Beast: The Untold Story of Mike Tyson" (written with Eric Wilson), Holloway's memoir of his 15 years with Tyson. The Beast is, no surprise, Tyson himself. When it came to getting the Champ ready for the ring, from his training to deal-making to extricating him from problems and relationships with people like Robin Givens and her gold-digging mother, Don King, and everyone else under the sun, that job fell to Rory Holloway. In "Taming the Beast," Holloway comes clean on all things Tyson, from Mike's sex addiction, to his comically horrible driving, to his wildman approach to life. He breaks down the entourage - who was good for the Champ, who wasn't - and deals with the criticism he faced as Tyson spun more and more out of control. When Tyson spit out Evander Holyfield's ear in 1997, he also spit out his 15-year friendship with Holloway.Compassionate, at times hilarious and terribly sad, "Taming the Beast" is the story of a man so out of touch with reality that he ultimately distanced himself from the only people who had his best interests at heart, severing the brotherhood that once existed, in favor of "yes men" who could supply him with the best drugs and the most hookers. It is a devastating story of watching, helpless, from a ringside seat as your best friend self-destructs and you can't do a thing about it.Painfully frank, street-wise and cathartic, "Taming the Beast" pulls no punches with its question-and-answer style. It is the book every Tyson fan needs on their nightstand for the undisputed whole truth.

In his best-selling book Against Happiness: In Praise of Melancholy, Eric G. Wilson challenged our culture's blindly insistent pursuit of happiness at all costs. In his harrowing yet ultimately hopeful memoir, The Mercy of Eternity, the author turns an unsparing eye on his own continuing struggle with bipolar depression and finds, within the very illness that causes so much suffering, the resources for hope, forgiveness, and love.As a bright student-athlete on his way to West Point, Eric Wilson seemed to be well on the way to a fulfilling life. Yet he was haunted by overwhelming feelings of his deep insignificance. As he grew older, the traditional means of fulfillment--marriage and professional success--did nothing to assuage the descents into darkness and destructive behavior.Therapy and medication have offered some relief, but the birth of his daughter ultimately forces his hand. In some ways, the answer has been in front of him the whole time, for English professor Wilson finds in the literature of Coleridge, Blake, and others the lessons that depression might teach. When he comes upon "negative theology"--the school of thought that finds God in the "dark night of the soul"--Wilson discovers the framework for a radical call to forgive depression. Only by forgiving this capricious, impersonal force is Wilson able to find the grace to move beyond the cycles of destructive self-absorption.Wilson admits that he continues to struggle, but in facing his depression instead of trying to escape it, he finds wisdom and grace.Beautifully and accessibly written, The Mercy of Eternity is a brief yet profound meditation on the largest question of life.
