To combat these trends, stewardship programs, awareness campaigns, surveillance of consumption, guidelines adherence and audits of medicationprescribing practices are important limited resources interventions for addressing a wide scope of medication misuse. It is crucial that physicians adhere to such programs in order to obtain the ultimate goal of reducing unnecessary and inappropriate medication usage.
