Most people have specific expectations of how God should heal them or save them from whatever issues they are dealing with. But God is God and He does not succumb to our expectations. He will use whatever sources He wants to and it is to our benefit to yield to His ways and let Him be God. Rahab's relatives could have despised her and refused to go to the harlot's house but they would have died along with all of Jericho. The blind man could have refused to let Jesus smear spittle mud on his eyes, but then he would have remained blind. Elijah could have refused to eat food brought by a raven or a poor widow, but he too would have died of hunger. We judge people based on what we see or think we know, we discredit people who don't measure up to our carnal standards, we want things to be done in a way we understand and as a result we miss out on divine provision and intervention. God's ways are higher than ours; His plans are not our plans. As we yield to him and if we stand still, we will see the awesome salvation of the Lord in our lives.

All the contributors in this anthology were simply given the word 'Hunger' and asked to write a poem, they had no direction, no discussion, no pointers and no guidance of any sort. What you will read is what they thought, what they understood, what they imagined, what ran rampant in their recollection of seasons in their own lives when hunger may have been a very real daily and hourly companion. The poets hail from and reside in various nations encompassing the UK, Uganda, Nigeria, Ghana, South Africa, Zimbabwe, Barbados, USA and Canada.
