Davon ausgehend untersucht sie, welche Ruckschlusse sich daraus uber deren Selbstbestimmung und Anerkennung im Alltag ziehen lassen. Diesbezuglich wird auch die Notwendigkeit gender- und diversitatsbewusster Ansatze in der Sozialen Arbeit diskutiert. Diese deskriptive Arbeit fut dabei grundlegend auf dem Theorem der "(De-)Konstruktion von Geschlecht" nach Judith Butler. Trans* Menschen werden bisher nach der ICD-10 und der DSM-5 mit einer Personlichkeitsstorung respektive Verhaltensstorung beziehungsweise Geschlechtsdysphorie diagnostiziert. Sie werden durch diese Pathologisierung geradezu entmenschlicht und genieen nicht die gleichen Rechte wie cis-geschlechtliche Menschen. So werden trans* Menschen nach wie vor durch die Gesellschaft von eben jener exkludiert und unsichtbar gemacht. Innerhalb dieser Arbeit werden deskriptiv folgende Leitfragen queertheoretisch in Diskurs gesetzt: Woher kommen und wie entstehen Exklusionsmechanismen in Bezug auf trans* Menschen? Wie auern sich diese konkret? Welche Moglichkeiten der diskursiven Verschiebung von hegemonialen Vorstellungen bestehen?
