A World of His Own highlights the extreme differences between the world God created and the world as it is today.Exemplifying how the problems of American society result from minimizing the most crucial body of knowledge known to man, this insightful resource examines the role of public education in shaping what our society has become, the suffering that results from excluding God, and the ensuing failure to acknowledge the power of change that we possess.A World of His Own identifies solutions for regaining the soul of our land. China is an enormous country with a lot of people. During the adventures described in this journal, we visit eleven cities via eight in-country flights and a lot of driving. We also walk the Great Wall, cruise the Yangtze and Li Rivers, tour Tiananmen Square and the Forbidden City, witness the Terra Cotta Warriors, hike the Himalayan Mountains and much, much more. China is an exciting, rapidly changing country with much to offer; it is at times delightful, at times frustrating, and always paradoxical and enigmatic. It is in any event, a country and a people worth experiencing. We are thrilled we did.

And when in Washington D.C. it isn't far to reach the grounds of many of the Civil War's greatest battles in Virginia and to two of its more significant conflicts at Gettysburg and Antietam. Visiting these war sites brings home the breadth and brutality of this "war between brothers".

Although the unique flora of the Socotra Archipelago with its high degree of endemism has received much attention recently, little information is available on the vegetation and related ecological aspects. Based on their extensive field experience of the region, the authors have assimilated a vast amount of knowledge to produce this book, which gives a detailed insight into the plant ecology of Socotra, designated as a World Heritage Site by UNESCO in 2008. The book is divided into seven chapters. After a brief introduction and overviews of important abiotic features, various aspects of the vascular flora are presented in Chapter 4, together with accounts of the bryophyte and lichen flora. Ecology and adaptive strategies of the plants are dealt with in Chapter 5, and Chapter 6 gives a concise description of the main vegetation units. Finally, important management issues of the vegetation are discussed, an essential topic to ensure preservation of the natural heritage of the archipelago.

This is a tale of a boat cruise. Gary and Linda and their great friends, Chuck and Kerry spent nine days aboard a small boat meandering through the British Virgin Islands. The boat had not been christened, she was just number seven. The daily activities during the cruise are recounted and the places traveled to are described. There are stories, too, of fun and adventure and of the kind of antics only good friends can enjoy together. But the reader must respect that not all stories are shared. After all, "What happens on board, stays on board."
