A graphic novel depicting the Zulu War of 1879 that led to a catastrophic defeat for the British followed by an incredible and heroic stand of epic proportions is told in gripping narrative fashion in this illustrated novel. As the mighty British empire forced the region of South Africa into war, the famed Zulu nation, first formed under the brilliant yet cruel Shaka-Zulu, inflicted the first blow---a devastating massacre which shook the entire world to its core. The next day, a small garrison at Rorke's Drift felt the onslaught of the Zulu army but in one of the most revered "last stands", the occupiers managed to hold off the Zulus and were awarded more Victorian Crosses than any battle had been before. This is the story of the two battles...one that proved Britain was no longer invincible and the other which led to the demise of the Zulu Empire. Collects comic issues #1-3.

Welcome to the Deadworld Long before there was The Walking Dead, there was Deadworld. Considered by many to be the godfather of the original zombie comic with over 100 issues and graphic novels in print and over 1,000,000 copies sold, Deadworld ripped into the undead with intelligent zombies on a mission and a group of poor teens riding in a school bus desperately try to stay one step ahead of the sadistic, Harley-riding King Zombie. Death, mayhem, and a touch of supernatural evil made Deadworld a classic and now here's your chance to get into the story In this self-contained story arc, many humans find themselves trapped in a world of the walking dead and the living who will do anything to survive. The promise of Safe Haven reveals a much darker and sinister purpose, when victims find themselves in a medical facility which will stop at nothing to combat the zombie plague. In an effort to solve the growing plague, researchers try a scientific approach to save mankind - humans as guinea pigs Natural diseases such as leprosy, AIDS, and cancer are used to infect the zombies. Survivors find that the greatest horror may not be the zombies but other humans. To the unfortunate, Safe Haven becomes known as the Slaughterhouse.Note that although Slaughterhouse is meant to stand on is own, it follows the story "Deadworld: Requiem for the World" and precedes "Deadworld: War of the Dead".Collects Deadworld Slaughterhouse comic issues 1-4.

The saga of Seeker began millennia ago with the fall of the fabled continent called Atlantis. Long ago, it was prophesied that two brothers of the Atlantean royal family would vie for control of that vast empire and, in the attempt, bring about its destruction. This came to pass and the younger of the brothers, Kiryn, was damned to forever walk the Earth as a spectre, always "seeking" release of his shackles but never finding it. But eons later, Kiryn has discovered a way to inhabit willing human hosts and thus, the legacy of the Seeker had begun. Now, the "Seeker" has found a receptacle in the form of Tracy LeMaster. As a highly successful FBI agent, LeAnn has an ingrained sense and single minded focus of justice. The Seeker's loathing of wrongdoing is strongly apparent within her and, thus, the two of them have united as one in the eerie semblance of the newest Seeker. BUT NOW...ALL THAT HAS CHANGED. Having been the latest incarnation of Seeker, Tracy LeMaster is locked up in a mental hospital because obviously, her belief in Atlantis and connection to Kiryn couldn't possibly be true. For the Seeker persona is now a popular icon figure and its government funded program to battle against corporate crime and terrorism around the world has become singular mission, and all the trappings of Atlantis are gone. With Tracy locked up, LeAnn Heyward is the current Seeker and carries out her duties, however a new pupil, Maxine Brasura, is unknowingly in training to become the next Seeker. It started with a single Red Diary. Inside it contained all the secrets that the owner had listened to and talked about with her lovers. She wrote down everything in there. Her lovers were powerful men and when she threatened to go public with it, she died. Murdered? Perhaps. But the diary went missing. The woman was Marilyn Monroe and her lovers included President John F. Kennedy and his brother, then Attorney General, Robert Kennedy. Her death remains a mystery...as does the contents of the Red Diary as it has never turned up anywhere. Now a man claims to be the son of Marilyn Monroe. His father? Perhaps one of the Kennedys but he doesn't know which one. He has been approached by a mob hitman who was assigned to watch over Marilyn as she carried her pregnancy out in Mexico. The mobster, calling himself Carlos, fell in love with Marilyn as so many other men have. When he witnesses the murder of Marilyn, he steals the diary. And then he begins his own set of red diaries....to carry on Marilyn's work. From the assassination of Kennedy, to the cover up that followed and the deaths of Martin Luther King and Robert Kennedy to Watergate, Carlos chronicles all the aspects he knows. His role differs in the various conspiracies and he claims he was the one that shot the fatal bullet into Kennedy's brain...partly for money and partly for retribution for Marilyn's death. Now, so many years later, an investigative team attempts to uncover both the diaries and the truth. Can the story possibly be true? Are there really a set of diaries that will blast everything wide open? As they go deeper, they find stumbling blocks in Washington and from the mob. Collects the complete comic issue series 1-4.
Things Could Get Ugly

Things Could Get Ugly

Things Could Get Ugly is historical fiction, set in late summer, 1939. It was a time when the Great Depression lingered on, Jim Crow divided the South along racial lines, the Syndicate was extending its influence. Hitler threatened war in Europe, and there was speculation President Franklin Roosevelt might run for an unprecedented third term. Jack O'Brien, a young newspaper reporter, returns to Covington, looking for a story that will make his reputation and, he hopes, help him land an assignment overseas to cover the events unfolding in Europe. The story Jack finds involves a scoundrel preacher, a wrongly convicted black man, a corrupt politician, and a dangerous mobster. But if he pursues that story, he puts everything he holds dear at risk. Although the story involves a gangster and public corruption, the novel has the "vibe" of the newspaper reporter movies that were popular in the 1930s. Many of its themes are relevant today. And like those 1930s "reporter" movies, there's a romance angle too
