L'obiettivo di questo libro condividere con i lettori le indagini sperimentali sull'effetto dei parametri di taglio controllati, ossia la velocit di taglio, l'avanzamento, la profondit di taglio, la concentrazione del fluido da taglio e due fluidi da taglio con oli base diversi sulla rugosit superficiale (Ra) dell'acciaio EN8 o AISI 1040 durante l'operazione di tornitura, utilizzando il disegno degli esperimenti, il metodo di disegno personalizzato, l'analisi della varianza, i diagrammi di leva e il profilo di desiderabilit con il software JMP per studiare le caratteristiche delle prestazioni nell'operazione di tornitura CNC a umido. L'analisi rivela che la velocit di avanzamento ha l'effetto pi significativo sulla rugosit superficiale (Ra) e il valore della rugosit superficiale non differisce significativamente per i due diversi fluidi da taglio utilizzati.
