Le taux d' chec des implants a diminu et, aujourd'hui, on estime qu'il est largement d l' chec de la formation osseuse qui soutient l'ost oint gration. Cela peut tre d des facteurs li s au clinicien, des facteurs li s l'implant, des facteurs locaux ou anatomiques, des facteurs biologiques, des facteurs syst miques ou fonctionnels. La nature de la surface de l'implant est un facteur de conception qui affecte le taux et l' tendue de l'ost o-int gration. La nature de la surface de l'implant influe pr cis ment sur la proportion de la surface de l'implant qui est directement en contact avec l'os, sur la rapidit de l'ost oint gration et sur la nature m canique de la connexion entre l'os et l'implant. C'est pourquoi, depuis l'av nement des implants dentaires, des modifications ont t propos es afin d'obtenir une meilleure ost oint gration et, par cons quent, des taux de r ussite plus lev s. Cela a conduit la microtopographie, la macrotopographie et la nanotopographie de la surface de l'implant.

Wie viel von der Implantatoberfl che direkt mit dem Knochen in Ber hrung kommt, wie schnell die Osseointegration erfolgt und wie die mechanische Beschaffenheit der Knochen-Implantat-Verbindung ist, h ngt von der Beschaffenheit der Implantatoberfl che selbst ab. Daher wurden seit der Einf hrung von Zahnimplantaten nderungen vorgeschlagen, um eine bessere Osseointegration und damit h here Erfolgsquoten zu erzielen. Dies hat zu einer Mikrotopographie, Makrotopographie und Nanotopographie der Implantatoberfl che gef hrt.

The rate of implant failure has been decreasing and today, it is largely theorized to be due to failure in bone formation in support of osseointegration. This could be due to clinician related factors, implant factors, local or anatomic factors, biologic factors, systemic or functional factors. Implant surface character is one design factor affecting the rate and extent of osseointegration. Precisely, how much of the implant surface directly contacts bone, how rapidly osseointegration occurs and the mechanical nature of bone implant connection is influenced by the nature of implant surface itself. Hence, since the advent of dental implants modifications have been proposed to achieve better osseointegration and in turn higher implant success rates. This has led to microtopography, macrotopography and nanotopography of implant surface.
