What I love about advent is that it is a "clean slate" during Christmas time. No matter what Christmas was for us in the past, it seems like every year it has the opportunity, and the possibility, to be something completely different and brand new. That's what Jesus brought with Him as He was born into this world; He brought with Him a clean slate, a fresh start, and something brand new to our lives and to our faith. Gone are the days of being consumed by what is going on around us, and falling victim to how the world works, and suffering from a hopeless sense of purpose in life. Now, because of Jesus, we have all these beautiful gifts that God gave to us through Him. Today I invite you to come and take this imperfect advent journey with me to discover the beauty of the good and perfect gifts God has given us through His Son Jesus. Let us journey together to discover what those gifts are, how we can receive those gifts, and most importantly why it's important to be a steward of those gifts. I pray this advent devotional is a blessing to you, and I wish you all a very Merry Christmas

Over 100 positive reviews on Amazon Do you believe that, despite your circumstances, God is still good and He is there for you? Do you believe that He will turn it for His good? Hope can be difficult to look forward to when you're faced with the trials of life. When unexpected events shake us to our core, we find ourselves hoping for something positive to come out of it. Faith and hope aren't about what you will receive, it's about what you believe. As a society, we "hope" for the better. We "hope" for provision, success, healing, a bigger house, children, relationships, and more. We "hope" things will change. But what if hope isn't about waiting for our desires to be fulfilled? What if hope is born from the strength and confidence that only comes through the Holy Spirit? In Hope: Four Week Mini Bible Study, Heather takes you through her own journey of a hope crisis. In the midst of sharing her story, she shares about the turning point and how it became a story of hope and healing. Designed for reflection and journaling, this study will help you shift your focus from one of hopelessness and despair to the eternal hope we have in Jesus. What others are saying about Hope - Four Week Mini Bible Study: A good study for troubled times. - Amazon Review If you are a person who is constantly on the go then this power-packed bible study is for you, it gives daily lessons and you are transformed through the word of God - Amazon Review I truly enjoyed this Bible study as the subject HOPE really spoke to me. It's about the hope that we have in the Lord; do we truly trust Him, do we give ourselves and our will completely to Him, or is our real hope in ourselves? The author has truly hit the nail on the head on this one - Amazon Review
Breaking Pride - Tearing Down Walls, Walking in His Grace
Do you desire to walk in the freedom Christ promised when you decided to follow Him? Do you deal with anger, jealousy, envy, pride, and not feeling "good enough?" When you experience hurt, do you build a wall around your heart? Have you ever felt that the emotions you experience keep you from knowing God more intimately?A lot of believers, even though they are saved by grace, still walk in pride rather than God's grace. Pride is often what we use to protect our hearts and to hide the truth of what we feel. Guarding our hearts doesn't require walls to protect it, rather, it requires that we keep our hearts soft towards God's Word and those around us.To walk in God's grace, we need to tear down the walls of pride. Knowing what pride is, and learning to identify areas of pride in your life are the first steps to overcoming and experiencing freedom in Christ. If you're ready to tear down the walls of pride and experience God more fully, Breaking Pride is for you. Breaking Pride will take you from hurting to healing through a practical reading of what pride may look like in your life and how to break free. Reviews of Breaking Pride"Pride is such a turnoff when I see it in others. So why is it so difficult to see it in myself? I think of myself as a humble person, but Breaking Pride helped me to see areas of pride I'd never uncovered, much less dealt with. I had to stop reading several times and confess to my Father that I'd been blowing it. For me, that's the value of this little book. It's not a theological treatise. Neither does it pretend to be an exhaustive treatment of the subject. But the author's vulnerability and sincerity shine through, coaxing me to be more vulnerable about my own failings. Bixler admits, "I'm not a humble person." "I'm afraid of everything." Rather than a conqueror instructing newby soldiers about how they've won every battle, Breaking Pride is more like a fellow soldier telling me what she's learning in the midst of her battle." J. Steve Miller"In this book you will learn to be unashamedly honest with your weaknesses and depend on God's grace to conquer pride. This book will "set you free" from hiding pride by showing you how to patiently allow God to deliver you from pride. If you ever suspected that you could be functioning out of pride, this book is for you. If you want to understand the mechanics of pride, this book is for you. If you want to find your way out of pride, get this book. In a nutshell, I believe that every Christian needs to read this book." Emelia MosimaHeather shares her own feelings, fears and hurts and provides the scripture to back it up. She reminds us that in order to break our pride, we need to let go of the control that consumes us and the desire to portray a certain image to everyone around us. As we do this, we'll begin to form deep and true relationships with friends, family and most importantly, with God. It's not our sin that keeps us from Him, but our pride. - Amazon ReviewAt last a book written in a no-nonsense style. I am a busy homeschooling mom and don't have lots of time for reading. The author does not beat around the bush and use lofty language. Just what I needed. As hard as it was to agree with what is said in this book, I could hear the Spirit breaking down the walls in my heart and encouraging me. Praise the Lord. Excellent. Thank you.

Updates Made in 2021 What would it look like for you to have faith? If you've been a believer for any length of time, you know that faith is just something you have. But what happens when your faith grows stagnant? What if you've allowed yourself to become so familiar with faith that you don't get excited anymore? Are you moved by faith as small as a mustard seed and wish you could have that kind of radical faith? Does childlike faith choke you up and you find yourself wondering where your childlike faith went? When we believe in God, we then learn to walk in faith and trust God. It's up to us. We can either choose to believe that He is who He says He is, or we can choose not to. Our faith begins with what we know and believe about God. It's time to be the woman of Faith I know that you can be. Now includes a weekly memory verse reading plan to help you memorize God's word on the subject of FAITH 5 Start Amazon Reviews for Faith - Four Week Mini Bible Study by Heather Bixler "This week, I read Heather Bixler's Mini Bible Study on FAITH. This is one of my favorite subjects, and having been a Christian for many years, I didn't suppose there was much I hadn't already heard about it, but it's nice to hear it again. My goodness, was I wrong While the scriptures were familiar, I loved the wonderfully fresh perspectives on them that can only come from someone who is truly "in touch" with the Lord. How can I say something like that? Well, I'll tell you. It's because I came away with something life-changing." (Lilly Maytree) My faith was definitely strengthened by reading this short, but powerful study. I have a passion for the bible and its power to change the lives of those who choose to invest in its treasures. (Kimberly Taylor) We chose this mini study as a way to help newcomers get their feet wet in Bible study. There is minimal homework, and the themes are familiar. However, much to our delight, it turned out to be fantastic for the Bible study veterans in our group also Our group usually meets for 90 minutes and we had no problem filling the entire session with group discussion. The best part is the opportunity to reference multiple translations of the verses we studied. We are all lovers of BibleGateway.com now, and this study helped our Bible study group to grow closer through the four weeks together. Experienced students were able to share verses that complemented the ones in the study, and it really fostered quality discussion. We will look for additional studies by this author in the future.
