Formerly published as The Valley of Giants. See all my works at www.jamesmitchelldouglas.ca Davie Meadows and the gang are back This story takes place during the Mountain Man Era of the 1820's. A group of legendary trappers, under the leadership of Davie Meadows, are fulfilling a promise to guide a young woman named Sarah and her little brother Jamie to their land claim on the Willamette River of Oregon. Their journey takes them through the South Pass of the Continental Divide and into a land that is full of gigantic wonderments, adventures and danger It is an untamed land that was first roughly mapped out by Lewis and Clark during their famous exploratory trip across America in the early 1800's. Unfriendly natives, rogue fur traders, conflict with the Hudson Bay Company and nature itself make The Mountain Men: The Death Wind a story that is packed with the actual challenges that the early explorers of the Rocky Mountains had to face on a daily basis. Each day brings a new threat to their survival in a land that is both beautiful and unforgiving. Book two of "The Mountain Men" Series

See all my books on my website, www.jamesmitchelldouglas.ca The Hangman's Noose is the third book in the Mountain Men series. A Group of fur trappers, known as 'the Death wind', along with Sarah and Jamie, two young settlers they rescued in their travels, have already established a homestead on the williamette river of the late 1820's. Their lives face many challenges, the biggest of them being the threat of a certain british officer, whose sworn, sick purpose is to destroy them. Pirates, romance, wilderness survival and team work lace this novel with barbed arrows of mystery, love, hate and death. The rewards of perseverance and commitment, as well as the challenge of building a future in early Oregon, are huge. At the same time, evil raises its ugly head, and only the 'hangman's Noose', along with their finely honed frontier fighting skills, can save them

See all my works at www.jamesmitchelldouglas.ca "Straight Form the Heart....Born to be Me" is a testament as to how it is possible to fall into a state of bondage which kept Jim alone and in a spiritual wilderness for a long time. There are also many stories, journal entries and poems, etc., of life in general throughout 69 years of life. Most importantly, it tells of a way to gain spiritual freedom and learn how to live again.Jim says, "I am convinced that many people live in a state of some kind of bondage and it is impossible for them to break free without the help of others. There is a spiritual warfare happening all around us and, if we do not attack life as God directs us to, it is virtually a certainty that fear, bewilderment, frustration, despair can gain access to our hearts.I also believe that if you hang in there and read this book that there is hopefully a lesson to be learned in exactly how to plug up that crack. If this did not hold true I'm sure that I never would have been asked to write my story. It has been noticeable that my life changed dramatically when I learned to listen. Living in bondage is a nightmare that you can so used to that your heart knows nothing different. When you are at this pointthe help of others and God is the only way out. It is virtually impossible to run the race alone. If you walk twenty miles into a wilderness you must walk twenty miles back out. The neat part of the trip out though is that the help of God and other people can make the journey much shorter. It also holds true that you will develop some really special friendships along the way and recognize there are people all around you that are quite willing to forgive if only you ask."
