nidottu
Flight Mechanics Modeling and Analysis comprehensively covers flight mechanics and flight dynamics using a systems approach. This book focuses on applied mathematics and control theory in its discussion of flight mechanics to build a strong foundation for solving design and control problems in the areas of flight simulation and flight data analysis. The second edition has been expanded to include two new chapters and coverage of aeroservoelastic topics and engineering mechanics, presenting more concepts of flight control and aircraft parameter estimation. This book is intended for senior undergraduate aerospace students taking Aircraft Mechanics, Flight Dynamics & Controls, and Flight Mechanics courses. It will also be of interest to research students and R&D project-scientists of the same disciplines. Including end-of-chapter exercises and illustrative examples with a MATLAB®-based approach, this book also includes a Solutions Manual and Figure Slides for adopting instructors. Features: Covers flight mechanics, flight simulation, flight testing, flight control, and aeroservoelasticity Features artificial neural network- and fuzzy logic-based aspects in modeling and analysis of flight mechanics systems: aircraft parameter estimation and reconfiguration of control Focuses on a systems-based approach Includes two new chapters, numerical simulation examples with MATLAB®-based implementations, and end-of-chapter exercises Includes a Solutions Manual and Figure Slides for adopting instructors

This book analyzes drug addiction and abuse from the perspectives of the state and community in India, with a special focus on North-West regions of India. India lies in the transit route of two major global centres of heroin and cocaine processing: the Golden Triangle of Myanmar, Thailand and Laos towards the East; and the Golden Crescent of Afghanistan, Iran and Pakistan to the West making it vulnerable to drug trafficking and curbing this has been a tough challenge for enforcement agencies. The book looks at:the nature and pattern of drug addiction across the age groups, gender and occupational groups, both in rural and urban areas in Indiathe socio-economic causes of drug-use and addiction and the various socio-economic costs associated with itthe general perception of family members, police and political leaders on drug addiction as well as rehabilitation; andavailable mechanisms to address the issue at the level of family, society and government and the changes required in policy to curb drug addiction and useThis interdisciplinary book will be of importance to students and researchers of economics, cultural and social anthropology, sociology, police administration, political science, and psychology. It will also be of interest to policy makers, government agencies, social scientists, departments of social and preventive medicine, social workers, civil society, drug-addicts and their families.

This book is one of the first critical analyses of the automobile industry in India. It studies the sector in general and the passenger car industry in particular, and provides valuable insights into the operation of Foreign Direct Investment (FDI) companies in a technology-intensive industry under changing economic regimes. The volume underlines the influence of the changing nature of foreign investment, the impact of economic reforms, technology regimes and industrial policy on growth, structural changes and development. It offers a detailed account of the trade performance of manufacturers in India’s passenger car industry. It also looks at successful cases to draw policy lessons towards encouraging quality FDI and developing India as a base for world production. A useful addition to industry studies in India, this book with its wide coverage and contemporary analyses will interest scholars and researchers of economics, Indian economy and industrial policy, industrial economics, automobile industry and manufacturing sector, development economics and international economics. It will also appeal to policymakers, practitioners and industrial associations.
Synthesis and Biological Evaluation of Mast Cell Stabilizers

Synthesis and Biological Evaluation of Mast Cell Stabilizers

LAP Lambert Academic Publishing

The role of mast cells can be protective or harmful: depending upon the physiological/pathological condition in which they get activated. The latter role is due to mast cell degranulation and the release of an array of incendiary mediators. Mast cells have a well-established role in diseases like allergy, eczema, anaphylactic shock, mastocytosis, and other miscellaneous mast cell disorders. The derivatives of spiro-β-carboline were evaluated for mast cell stabilization activity by compound 48/80 induced degranulation histamine release assay. The mast cell stabilization of 2′-Heptyl-2′,3′,4′,9′-tetrahydrospiro cyclohexane-1,1′-pyrido 3,4-b]indole]-3′-carboxylic acid (IC50 = 0.389 0.015 μM) and 2′-Benzoyl 2′,3′,4′,9′-tetrahydrospiro cyclohexane-1,1′-pyrido 3,4-b]indole]-3′-carboxylic acid (IC50 = 00.469 0.032 μM) compounds were to be of similar potency as that of standard drug sodium cromoglycate (IC50 =0.489 0.003μM).
