Die Nachfolge Christi (De imitatione Christi) von Thomas a Kempis ist ein weit verbreitetes und oft gelesenes geistliches Buch. Es erschien zuerst anonym um das Jahr 1418. Das Buch ist eines der am weitesten verbreiteten und bekanntesten christlichen Andachtswerke berhaupt. Es wurde allerdings von einem M nch geschrieben und ist daher haupts chlich auf das geistliche Leben im Kloster ausgerichtet. Es legt besondere Betonung auf die Losl sung von der "verg nglichen Welt" und gibt kaum Anweisungen f r aktives Verhalten in der Welt. F r die meisten Christen ist das Buch attraktiv, weil es viel Gewicht auf Jesus Christus und die direkte Verbindung mit Gott legt. Thomas a Kempis (1380-1471) war ein Augustiner-Chorherr, Mystiker und geistlicher Schriftsteller des 15. Jahrhunderts.
