Here is the ultimate record of how Dungeons & Dragons came to be. The Making of Original D&D is an extraordinary collection of rare documents that shed light on D&D's origin story. Uncover materials never released to the public, including Gary Gygax's first draft of original D&D, and early published writings such as the 1974 original D&D "white box" booklets and supplements. Each document is featured alongside insightful commentary from one of the game's foremost historians, Jon Peterson. Disclaimer: We (Wizards) recognize that some of the legacy content in this product does not reflect the values of the Dungeons & Dragons franchise today. Some older content may reflect ethnic, racial, and gender prejudices that were commonplace in American society at that time. These depictions were wrong then and are wrong today. This content is presented as it was originally created, because to do otherwise would be the same as claiming these prejudices never existed. Dungeons & Dragons teaches that diversity is a strength, and we strive to make our D&D products as welcoming and inclusive as possible. This part of our work will never end.

BONES TO THE RESCUE His name is Dr. Bones. He will transport you across a galaxy of unknown fate and perilous adventures. His discoveries unveil mysterious fossils, forgotten species and vanished empires. Battling villains, both human and alien, he fights to preserve the legacies of the galaxy. Dr. Bones, archaeologist and professor, is called to another adventure. Alien artifacts have turned up on a frontier mining planet, Komako. Since no animal life was known there before, Bones rushes to examine the evidence. However, his attempt to preserve the dragon-like fossils and their environment meets opposition from the start. The miners would rather continue their profitable strip-mining business and ignore the saurian artifacts. Dr. Bones and his crew interfere, and the tension builds. Soon, mysterious disturbances trouble the miners and the excavators alike, and threaten the safety of the artifacts. Equipment is sabotaged, and rumor has it that the saurian are still alive-and are trying to scare the humans off their planet. Can Bones stop the destruction before it's too late?

Tales of Magic and Mystery, which published five issues between December 1927 and April 1928, remains one of the rarest and most sought-after of the early fantasy pulp magazines. This issue features contributions from Walter B. Gibson, among others.
The famous Spicy pulp magazines of the 1930s and 1940s are among the rarest and most sought-after publications by collectors. The Spicy magazines — which included Spicy Mystery, Spicy Adventure, Spicy Detective and others — published a titilating mix of fantasy, horror, mystery, action-adventure and suspense, punctuated by episodes of torture, sadism, sex and other risque elements. Although tame by current standards, and sometimes of dubious literary merit, these publications presented tales which thrilled a sensation-hungry audience. Despite the themes and constraints of the market, writers who would later become famous — including Hugh B. Cave, E. Hoffman Price, Robert Leslie Bellem and many more — were frequent contributors. The December 1939 issue of Spicy Adventure Stories includes works from Robert Leslie Bellem, Lew Merrill (Victor Rousseau), Hugh Speer, Ken Cooper, Clayton Maxwell, Clark Nelson and Harley L. Court.
A facsimile reprint of the first issue of the famous hero pulp magazine "The Phantom Detective". The lead novel is "The Emperor of Death," by G Wayman Jones. The issue also includes "Framed," by Will Levinrew, "Death on Dow Street," by Jack D'Arcy, and "Rub-Out," by John H Compton.
