Your time is coming; be patient and stay in the Word of the Lord. When you try everything and fail, do not give up: stay at the foot of the cross because there is a time coming that no one can stop you. This book will help you see how the Lord works in His mighty, miraculous way. Genesis 21:2 (KJV) says, "For Sarah conceived, and bare Abraham a son in his old age, at the set time of which God had spoken to him." If God can do it for them, He will do the same for you. In this book, John Henry is encouraging you to never give up and stay in the line. Apply yourself to God's principles, and He will change your life.

From the Author (an Australian-registered Psychologist with 27+ years' experience): What an honour it is to be trusted with the stories that people bring] to you]. ... always] treat the trust they give you with honour. We live in a Willy wagtail world, where attention jumps from one subject, from one issue to another. ... Our aural world is so filled with such sound chaos, that really listening to another person in an environment where neither of you will be interrupted is a luxury we usually have to pay for.People move through their lives like weavers, gathering the strands of their past, joining them to the threads and filaments of the present ... to make a tapestry of their story. People first come to counselling because somewhere in their own story they lose their way; they have dropped the threads, lost the pattern ... they] drop the same threads, weaving the same section over and over until they become enmeshed in the same section of the story.Depressed people are stuck in the past and are looping back over a past point in their life's story, trying to get a handle on it. In Communication] If there is one subject] that either or both of you] avoid, it will rear its head over and over in one form or another, either as a bone of contention, or as a festering pustule under the skin of the relationship. In twenty-seven + years of counselling, all except six of the many hundreds of suicidal people I have seen], were either] molested in childhood, or bashed in childhood, and/or raped in their teenage years. Supervision] keeps you from becoming a drooling mess in the corner... It is not a cost. It is an investment.Get your own shit dealt with first before trying to help. As they say on planes in the safety announcement, "Put your own mask on before helping others."
Tatra - the Legacy of Hans Ledwinka

Tatra - the Legacy of Hans Ledwinka

New in Paperback! Tatra – The Legacy of Hans Ledwinka is the story of the Tatra company, which originated in the Central European country of Czechoslovakia. It is a tale of great innovation and avant-garde design in automobile engineering. It is also the story of one man – Hans Ledwinka – and his visionary concepts which have become highly influential, although often undervalued, contributions to the development of car technology. Until now, Hans Ledwinka's talent has hardly been recognised; in retrospect, he can be judged equal to car designers such as Benz, Daimler and Porsche, whose endeavours have been fully recorded many times over. With his revolutionary Tatra cars Ledwinka consistently pushed back the frontiers of automobile construction, and it’s certain that without his inspiration, the Volkswagen in its air-cooled rear-engined form would perhaps never have been conceived. This book suggests that Ledwinka played a greater part in this development than has previously been appreciated. The authors have covered the full history of the Tatra company, which is one of the oldest factories in continuous automobile manufacture, dating back to the 19th century. By doing this, they have placed both Ledwinka and the Czechoslovak Tatra company in their rightful place in the history of car design, and provided a fully comprehensive assessment of the influence of Tatra car designs and their inspired creator. The text of this larger format 2nd edition has been fully revised and updated since the 1990 edition. This new edition also contains many additional illustrations. The book also has a new foreword, written by Norman Foster, the British architect, and proud owner of a Tatra T87, who pays tribute to the aesthetic qualities of this design classic and captures the fascination of both designers and motor historians with the development of Tatra.
Moving Heaven and Earth (Icon Science)
When Nicolaus Copernicus claimed that the Earth was not stationary at the centre of the universe but circled the Sun, he brought about a total revolution in the sciences and consternation in the Church.Copernicus' theory demanded a new physics to explain motion and force, a new theory of space, and a completely new conception of the nature of our universe. He also showed for the first time that a common-sense view of things isn't necessarily correct, and that mathematics can and does reveal the true nature of the material world. As John Henry reveals, from his idea of a swiftly moving Earth Copernicus sowed the seed from which science has grown to be a dominant aspect of modern culture, fundamental in shaping our understanding of the workings of the cosmos.
Little Guide to Counselling Practice
The Little Guide to Counselling Practice has been written for all those involved in counselling: students of counselling and beginning and continuing counsellors. It examines a wide range of issues and how to deal with them from the author's perspective. The book stresses throughout the need to treat the work of counselling as an honour bestowed on the counsellor. It strongly recommends that counsellors be aware of their own bias so that little pieces of their reality do not get mixed up with the client's reality. It also strongly recommends regular supervision to help a counsellor maintain one's balance.

Religion, Magic, and the Origins of Science in Early Modern England
In these articles John Henry argues on the one hand for the intimate relationship between religion and early modern attempts to develop new understandings of nature, and on the other hand for the role of occult concepts in early modern natural philosophy. Focussing on the scene in England, the articles provide detailed examinations of the religious motivations behind Roman Catholic efforts to develop a new mechanical philosophy, theories of the soul and immaterial spirits, and theories of active matter. There are also important studies of animism in the beginnings of experimentalism, the role of occult qualities in the mechanical philosophy, and a new account of the decline of magic. As well as general surveys, the collection includes in depth studies of William Gilbert, Sir Kenelm Digby, Henry More, Francis Glisson, Robert Boyle, Robert Hooke, and Isaac Newton.

A Short History of Scientific Thought

A Short History of Scientific Thought

John Henry

Red Globe Press

An essential introductory textbook that shows students how science came to be such an important aspect of modern culture. Lively and readable, it provides a rich historical survey of the major developments in scientific thought, from the Ancient Greeks to the twentieth century. John Henry also explains how new scientific theories have emerged and analyses their impact on contemporary thinking. This is an ideal core text for modules on the History of Science, Medicine and Technology, or the History and Philosophy of Science - or a supplementary text for broader modules on European History or Intellectual History - which may be offered at the upper levels of an undergraduate History, Philosophy or Science degree. In addition it is a crucial resource for students who may be studying the history of science for the first time as part of a taught postgraduate degree in European History, Intellectual History, Science or Philosophy.
