Selling: Building Partnerships, remains faithful to the original goal of the product since its first edition—that instructors don't want to teach the history of selling, rather they want their students to know how it is done. While many things have changed, students still need to practice newly learned skills, make ethical choices, and adapt their communication styles appropriately to the situation and audience. Selling: Building Partnerships, addresses all of these with distinct role plays, mini-case studies, and current examples throughout. The emphasis on value creation makes this product applicable not only for students interested in a sales career, but also provides skills that will serve them in other roles and life.

Exterminator 69 will place you directly in the path of an onrushing freight train going a hundred miles an hour. The tragically flawed protagonist, Mick, also known as exterminator sixty nine is the ultimate country boy just trying to do his job on a regular Friday afternoon, that is until he enters a house only to find the local sheriff's deputy murdered, half eaten, and with fire ants consuming the remains of his carcass. And when the ants turn on him as one sentient being he soon realizes he is facing a lot more than just a simple extermination job. Confronted with an unknown diabolical force, albeit within the body of a mysterious raven haired man, he finds himself in a fight for not only his survival but that of mankind itself. Initially just one step ahead of the lawmen who suspect him to be the murderer, they eventually join forces as they realize what they are up against. In an epic battle that lays waste to an unsuspecting town by the forces of darkness, he must use his wits, hillbilly cunning and entomological knowledge against a fire ant army of billions controlled by the spawn of Satan. In this macabre, raunchy, and frighteningly fast paced novel, will a "good ol' country boy" be able to outwit and defeat the forces of darkness.

In between the covers of An Uncharted Journey Into the Abyss, are eighteen short stories that don't always end up with fairy tale endings. In fact, quite a few of them rip at our emotions and pause us to think about life, and how it doesn't always end up the way we planned. From an Indian tribe on the brink of slaughter, to a hard nosed veteran policeman tracking a serial killer, we find ourselves drawn deep within the psyche of the main characters. Can a poor young Mexican boy save his family and farm from a vicious predator eating their livestock? Will a cocky self-assured man from back East have his ego shattered by a native American cashier in the West? Or will you be soaring above the crashing seas as a ptarmigan looking for an escape? An Uncharted Journey Into the Abyss will walk you along high mountain trails with a curmudgeonly old prospector, haunt a family as a Civil War ghost, and even visit a planet on a search and reconnaissance mission. And within each story, embedded deep within each of them, is a kernel of truth. Whether you, as the reader, decide to decipher its meaning is completely up to you.

A Narrative of the Captivity and Adventures of John Tanner
A Narrative of the Captivity and Adventures of John Tanner is a book written by John Tanner himself. The book is a memoir that narrates the life of John Tanner, who was born in 1780 in Virginia and was captured by the Shawnee Indians at the age of nine. The book describes his life as a captive of the Shawnee for 30 years, during which he was adopted by the tribe and learned their language and customs. Tanner's story is a unique account of a white man who lived as a Native American, experiencing both the joys and hardships of their way of life. He was eventually able to escape and return to white society, but found it difficult to adjust and eventually returned to live among the Ojibwe tribe in the Great Lakes region. The book provides a detailed account of Tanner's experiences, including his time as a fur trader, his interactions with other tribes, and his personal relationships. It also gives insight into the cultural differences between Native American and white society during the early 19th century. Overall, A Narrative of the Captivity and Adventures of John Tanner is an important historical document that offers a unique perspective on the experiences of Native Americans and the challenges faced by those who were caught between two worlds. This Is A New Release Of The Original 1830 Edition. U. S. Interpreter At The Saut De Ste. Marie During Thirty Years Residence Among The Indians In The Interior Of North America. This scarce antiquarian book is a facsimile reprint of the old original and may contain some imperfections such as library marks and notations. The systems that make up the accountability package in education: standards, assessments, and the quality determination for a school, have each entered the educational field under the explicit assumption by their creators that they would drive educator behavior in a positive way. But what if that isn’t actually the case? What if each of the components was actually designed for another purpose entirely and now is tasked with a role that was never considered in its design? If that is the case those who put the systems in place risk expecting a result that the system was never designed to produce. That is exactly where we find ourselves today. In education the misalignment between what the systems were designed to do and the intent of those who selected them is masked in the sheer complexity of the educational exercise. What this book does so marvelously is unravel that complexity and present the contradictions in a clear, coherent manner. Understanding these contradictions is the first step towards actual improvement.

In the late 1960s and early 1970s, Richard Brautigan was a counter-cultural celebrity, a writer that the would-be hip just had to read. The problem was that his fame did not rest on the considerable literary virtues of his work but, to a great extent, on a mediated image of cool hippie, which fell out of fashion in the mid-70s. This is the first book-length study of Brautigan in English for 30 years. Its purpose is to reclaim Brautigan's reputation. Dr. John Tanner analyses Brautigan's fiction against the background of the cultural and literary upheavals from which it emerged and demonstrates that Brautigan is no mere Sixties curio but an innovative and vibrant American voice ignored for far too long. John Tanner teaches English Literature and Creative Writing at Bangor University. He is an elected member of the Welsh Academy of writers and his poetry has appeared in various magazines, in the anthology The Lie of the Land, and in the collected volume of his verse, Pieces, both published by Cinnamon Press.
