Jules Verne (1828-1905) kirjoitti vuonna 1892 ilmestyneen seikkailuromaaninsa, le château des Carpathes. Vuonna 1978 teos ilmestyi nimellä Karpaattien linna, suomentajanaan Pentti Kähkönen, jonka ystävällisellä luvalla tämä äänikirja on tuotettu.Tarina ei Vernen mukaan ole fantastinen, vaan pelkästään romanttinen. Se on kuitenkin rakkaus- ja kauhukertomus Romanian Transsylvaniasta.
