One day a teddy who couldn't smile, met a little girl who loved him just the way he was...'When Teddy Lost His Smile' is a story designed for children living with facial palsy. The book aims to: - Improve self-esteem in children with facial palsy by normalising the condition.- Reduce feelings of isolation so they don't feel they are 'the only one'.- Increase awareness of facial palsy in schools and the wider community. It was written with the assistance of a number of child psychologists, as well as children and parents living with facial palsy, to ensure that the story is relevant and addresses the challenges of this condition for young children in a way that is appropriate and sensitive. The story focuses on Teddy who Rosie buys at a toy sale. Teddy is very shy and he worries because he has lost his smile. Rosie who has facial palsy, shows teddy throughout the book that he shouldn't worry so much about his lost smile. Rosie's facial palsy is only spoken about in a very positive way and she is a confident, happy little girl with lots of friends. The book explores some areas related to children with facial palsy, for example, Rosie gets sand in her eye at one point, and she eats food that is easier to chew. She also talks about her party tricks, such as being able to raise just one eyebrow and sneeze with one eye open. At the end of the book, Rosie asks her daddy to give Teddy a new smile with his sewing kit, but Teddy decides that he is happy the way he is.The book is recommended for children aged 3 to 7. It is also a useful tool for an adult with facial palsy to introduce facial palsy to their child, or for teachers to educate their pupils about the condition.

Quick Access To Your Important Information: A Means of Gathering and Compiling Your Important Information So That You Have It All In One Place
I didn't know that I needed a book like this until I became the caretaker for my ailing father and disabled sister simultaneously. In those roles, I quickly became overwhelmed and very frustrated because I found myself constantly looking for pieces of their important information in order to pay bills, handle medical appointments, manage repairs, etc. only to find out that their important documents, papers, and receipts were scattered about in different locations throughout their houses? They didn't always know exactly where their information was, which added to my mounting frustration. I set out to find a way to compile each of their information into one document per person so that I didn't have to continue to rummage through mounds of files and paperwork every single time that I needed something. That task changed my life. Once I had a template for each of them, all I had to do was fill in the blanks. Finding a means of compiling and organizing their information changed my life and made it so much easier for me to help them. Unfortunately, my father and sister both passed away suddenly, within two months of each other, but because I had taken the time to over things with them and then had written everything down, including their final wishes, I felt confident that I could handle things smoothly and in a manner that they deserved. Thus, this book was born. I now use it to keep all of my own important information in so that I can find anything I need quickly and easily and so can my family, if the need arises. Note: I have three suggestions for anyone purchasing this book.1) Fill out your information in pencil so that you can update it as needed.2) I strongly recommend adding stick on labels to each topic heading in the book. The simple addition of labels has made finding any information that I need so much faster.3) I have left extra writing space in the Table of Contents so that individuals who have purchased my book can fill in important information that they need and use all the time. Having this information at the beginning of the book saves so much time when you use it as a quick reference guide. I think that you and your family will find it invaluable.

An intimate account of the development of a spiritual tradition and a biography of its creators--told by one of the Diamond Approach cofounders. Since 1976, A. H. Almaas and Karen Johnson have guided the inner work of individuals and groups in the Ridhwan School, which has branches in California, Colorado, and Europe. Their teachings, known as the Diamond Approach, originated from their own experiences of personal transformation, as well as those of their students. Their work has been influenced by the Gurdjieff Work, Sufism, Buddhism, and various forms of Vedic teachings, as well as by depth psychology and scientific inquiry. The Jeweled Path presents the story of how a modern spiritual path emerged as told by one of the founders, Karen Johnson. She depicts the personal experiences that birthed the teaching and furthered its development. Told with humor and intimacy, these profound awakenings amidst the details of ordinary life become the building blocks of a remarkable new approach to human nature and our understanding of reality.

"Persistence and determination alone are omnipotent. The slogan 'Press On' has solved and always will solve the problems of the human race." Calvin Coolidge Coolidge was on to something when he pointed out that talent and education had far less to do with success than most people thought. Coolidge, something of a self-made man himself, understood that talent and education only get you so far - when, in fact, quitting will rob you of all of the benefits of your "head start." There is only one true human superpower we possess. It's not the power of flight. It certainly isn't the power of invincibility - anyone who's ever failed can tell you that It's determination. The ability to press on when you are tempted to quit. That is the one and only superpower you will ever have. And the good news is that it's free. It's just not easy. Especially when the world around you doesn't seem like it wants to accommodate your determination - which, let's be honest, is most of the time. You'll find the inspiration and encouragement to "press on" from the real-life stories inside. Regardless of where you find yourself today, "Rest If You Must, But Don't You Quit "
