Post-9/11 veterans are at particularly high risk for co-occurring substance use disorders (SUDs) and mental health disorders. Integrated care--in which both SUDs and mental health problems are addressed concurrently--is a recommended form of treatment for these veterans. This report provides guidance and recommendations to support the delivery of quality care for veterans with co-occurring SUDs and mental health disorders.

Over 5 million Syrian refugees entered Turkey, Jordan, and Lebanon due to the civil war. This report examines the labor market for refugees in these countries. In Turkey, a barrier was speaking Turkish; in Jordan and Lebanon, the refugees' arrival exacerbated existing economic slowdowns. Working legally was a challenge for all. Recommendations are tailored to each country in order to improve the socioeconomic environment for all.

In 2013, the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation launched two programs to help monitor progress toward a new global goal to increase modern contraceptive use by 2020: Performance Monitoring and Accountability 2020 (PMA2020) and Track20. This evaluation of both programs is based on interviews with more than 260 stakeholders, statistical analysis of the PMA2020 survey, and analysis of stakeholder ratings of data maturity and sustainability.

In this report, RAND researchers describe elements of a research blueprint to inform future efforts to improve support for military and veteran caregivers.
