L'obiettivo del trattamento nel ripristino dei difetti palatali acquisiti quello di ottenere una funzione e un aspetto normali. Vengono proposte due categorie di trattamento: la riabilitazione protesica convenzionale di un difetto con una protesi otturatoria o la ricostruzione chirurgica del difetto. La protesi otturatoria continua a essere la procedura pi comune per la riabilitazione dei pazienti maxillectomizzati. La realizzazione di protesi otturatorie dipende dall'applicazione dei principi protesici di base utilizzati nel trattamento di pazienti senza difetti mascellari. Alcuni principi devono essere modificati a causa del difetto e del carattere e della posizione delle strutture rimanenti. Il difetto, insieme alle strutture rimanenti, deve essere utilizzato per fornire supporto, ritenzione e stabilit alla protesi otturatoria.

La proth se obturatrice reste la proc dure la plus courante pour la r habilitation des patients ayant subi une maxillectomie. La fabrication de proth ses obturatrices d pend de l'application des principes prosthodontiques de base utilis s dans le traitement des patients ne pr sentant pas de d fauts maxillaires. Certains principes doivent tre modifi s en raison du d faut et du caract re et de la position des structures restantes. Le d faut, en conjonction avec les structures restantes, doit tre utilis pour assurer le soutien, la r tention et la stabilit de la proth se obturatrice.

Das Behandlungsziel bei der Wiederherstellung erworbener Gaumendefekte besteht darin, eine normale Funktion und ein normales Aussehen zu erreichen. Es werden zwei Behandlungskategorien vorgeschlagen: konventionelle prothetische Rehabilitation eines Defekts mit einer Obturatorprothese oder chirurgische Rekonstruktion des Defekts. Die Obturatorprothese ist nach wie vor das h ufigste Verfahren f r die Rehabilitation von Patienten mit Maxillektomie. Die Herstellung von Obturatorprothesen h ngt von der Anwendung grundlegender prothetischer Prinzipien ab, die auch bei der Behandlung von Patienten ohne Oberkieferdefekte angewandt werden. Einige Prinzipien m ssen aufgrund des Defekts und der Art und Lage der verbleibenden Strukturen modifiziert werden. Der Defekt muss in Verbindung mit den brigen Strukturen genutzt werden, um der Obturatorprothese Halt, Retention und Stabilit t zu verleihen.

The treatment goal in the restoration of acquired palatal defects is to achieve normal function and appearance. Two categories of treatment are suggested: conventional prosthetic rehabilitation of a defect with an obturator prosthesis or surgical reconstruction of the defect. The obturator prosthesis continues to be the most common procedure for the rehabilitation of maxillectomy patients. Fabrication of obturator prostheses depends on the application of basic prosthodontic principles that are used in the treatment of patients without maxillary defects. Some principles must be modified because of the defect and the character and position of the remaining structures. The defect, in conjunction with the remaining structures, must be used to provide support, retention and stability of obturator prosthesis.
